    Abstract: Provided is an ultrasound observation apparatus for generating an ultrasound image based on an ultrasound signal acquired by an ultrasound probe having an ultrasound transducer. The apparatus includes: an analysis unit that performs FFT on a sample data group having pieces of sample data in RF data generated based on the ultrasound signal, to calculate frequency spectra; a correction unit that generates, based on the frequency spectra, analysis data indicating a relationship between a distance from the ultrasound transducer and an intensity of each of the frequency spectra for each frequency component, and corrects the analysis data based on a correction amount set for each distance, the correction amount causing an intensity of reference data generated from a reference ultrasound signal to be constant regardless of the distance; and a calculation unit that calculates a frequency feature based on a frequency spectrum generated in accordance with the corrected analysis data.

    Abstract: Provided is an ultrasound imaging system configured to generate data of an ultrasound image based on an echo signal received by each of a plurality of elements included in an ultrasound transducer that transmits and receives ultrasound. The ultrasound imaging system includes: a determining circuit configured to determine, using a signal corresponding to the echo signal received by each of the plurality of elements, whether each of the plurality of elements has a sensitivity decrease; a region specifying circuit configured to specify a region where sensitivity decreases in the ultrasound image, based on a contribution degree indicating a ratio of transmission intensity contributing to an ultrasound beam by an element that has been determined as having the sensitivity decrease by the determining circuit; and a sensitivity display circuit configured to generate data for displaying the region specified by the region specifying circuit.

    Abstract: An ultrasound observation device includes a processor including hardware, wherein the processor is configured to: generate ultrasound image data; set, in a region of interest, a plurality of small regions by dividing the region of interest in accordance with a preset condition; generate a histogram of each of the small regions; calculate a determination value for each of the small regions; determine whether the physical quantity in each of the small regions is uniform; change a determination target small region in accordance with a preset condition when the physical quantity in the determination target small region among the small regions is determined to be not uniform; set the determination target small region as an attenuation rate calculation target region when the physical quantity in the determination target small region is determined to be uniform; and set an attenuation rate of the attenuation rate calculation target region.
