    Abstract: An endoscope system includes an optical transmission section that is provided in an endoscope inserted into an interior of a subject and transmits illuminating light to a distal end, a light source section that generates light, a first lens section that receives the light, from the light source section and emits the light with characteristics of different spatial intensity distributions, a second lens section that causes the light emitted from the first lens section to enter the proximal end of the optical transmission section, a distance adjusting section that can adjust a distance, and a control section that controls the distance adjusting section that adjusts the distance between the first lens section and the second lens section so that amounts of the light of a first and second wavelength bands have a predetermined ratio of amount of light.

    Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed to an endoscope processor used in an endoscope system which comprises a receptacle configured to receive a plug of an endoscope. The plug includes an illumination plug terminal, an electric plug terminal, and a light-receiving plug terminal. The receptacle includes an illumination receptacle terminal that is displaceable within a predetermined range in a housing for the receptacle and is to be connected to the illumination plug terminal. An electric receptacle terminal is displaceable within a predetermined range in the housing and is to be connected to the electric plug terminal. A light-receiving receptacle terminal that is arranged between the illumination receptacle terminal and the electric receptacle terminal, is attached relative to the housing and is to be connected to the light-receiving plug terminal.

    Abstract: An endoscopic system includes a sheath portion including an opening, a translucent balloon, an endoscope main body, and a display. The balloon includes a first index group having a plurality of balloon indices. Adjacent two of the plurality of balloon indices are different from each other. The balloon covers the opening and is configured to inflate and deflate. The endoscope main body is configured to be retracted into and projected from the opening. The endoscope main body is located inside the inflated balloon and is configured to observe an interior portion of a sinus. The display is configured to display an image obtained by the endoscope main body.

    Abstract: A scanning endoscope includes: an optical fiber that guides illumination light for illuminating an object from a proximal end thereof and emits the illumination light from a distal end thereof; an actuator portion provided on a side portion of the optical fiber, for causing the distal end of the optical fiber to oscillate; a holding portion provided on a more proximal end side of the optical fiber than the actuator portion, for holding the optical fiber so as to allow the distal end of the optical fiber to oscillate with the actuator portion; a vibration-absorbing member formed so as to cover a circumference of a part of the optical fiber, the part being located on a more proximal end side than the holding portion and adjacent to the holding portion; and an outer cover that covers a circumference of at least a part of the vibration-absorbing member.

    Abstract: A dilator, dilating a narrowed part of a paranasal sinus, includes an end effector, and the end effector includes a pair of treatment pieces openable and closable relative to each other. Each of the treatment pieces includes a treatment surface facing a side on which the treatment piece opens, and each of the treatment surfaces includes an inclined surface inclined to be closer to a side on which the treatment piece closes as a distance to a distal end of the treatment piece decreases. The pair of inclined surfaces become parallel or substantially parallel to each other when the treatment pieces are opened to a maximum angle. The end effector opens anisotropically.

    Abstract: An endoscope system includes: a light transmitting section for transmitting illuminating light and emit the light from a light exit surface; a light receiving section for receiving return light of the light emitted from the light exit surface; a light guiding section for allowing the light to be incident on the light receiving section by totally reflecting return light from a subject or the emitted light at least one or more times; a driving section for allowing an end portion having the light exit surface of the light transmitting section to be swung; a light detecting section for detecting the light received through the light guiding section, as a signal; and a control section for, if the pattern of fluctuations in the signal level by the light detected by the light detected section does not correspond to the predetermined pattern of fluctuations, performing control for lowering a quantity of the illuminating light.
