    Abstract: A method includes determining at a User Equipment (UE) that logged Minimization of Drive Tests measurements (MDT) is configured and thus a plurality of MDT measurements are to be made and results of said measurements are to be stored for reporting at a later time. It is determined that said measurements are to be stopped (suspended) for various reasons (such as the UE being in any cell selection mode or camping on any cell) and information indicating a reason why said measurements are to be stopped (suspended) is stored in the measurement log.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for packet delay measurement are provided. One method may include sending, by a network node, a grant in uplink to a user equipment that previously indicated a need for data transmission for quality of service (QoS) class identifier (QCI) services. The method may then include storing a time of the uplink grant to the user equipment, and measuring a time point when a last part of a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) serving data unit (SDU) related to QCI services has been confirmed by sending an acknowledgement to the user equipment.

    Abstract: These teachings present a new minimization of drive test MDT mode which is valid when the user equipment UE is in an idle state and in a connected state and across the state transitions. The extended logged MDT configuration according to this mode may be configured for the UE by the network, or autonomously by the UE itself. In some embodiments it is associated with the UE reporting its preference for power optimized configuration indication. Some embodiments have a minimum threshold to assure any MDT report from this mode has a sufficient volume of data or sufficient number of data points logged, and so is well suited for smart phones with always-on applications. The parameters such as logging periodicity can differ between the idle and connected state even for a given extended logged MDT configuration.
