摘要: This program is one of many approaches to correlating nucleotides, amino acids or any biophysical parameter in quantum biology. The output is a correlation coefficient and the innovative result is the quanification of any biomolecular sequence. This reading frame distance approach is the most important of all, as it gives a quantity to intronic sequences which regulate all exonic sequences. Amino acids can be correlated as parameters for they give a nice statistical distribution as there are twenty of them. By transposing the matrix of numbers produced by this program, one can obtain the relative significance of each sequence position for any variable such as malaria, dengue fever, etc. This QBASIC, DOS approach is valuable for Africa and LDC's as they do not have to update their old PC's. It can be written in any modern language and used by any industrialized nation.

摘要: The present invention is a method for operating a thermal imaging camera for selective temperature imaging, and a thermal imaging system having a selective temperature imaging mode. When first entering the selective temperature imaging mode of operation, the system and method automatically determine the hottest area in a scene and display it in a predetermined hue. The remainder of the scene is displayed in grayscale. The method and system allow further adjustment of the set point of the selective temperature imaging mode, and display portions of the scene as hot as or hotter than the set point value in gradient shades of the predetermined hue.

摘要: Systems and techniques for determining an amount of reserve material required to meet demand. A period of uncertainty during which varying demand for a product or component must be considered may be computed by taking into account various time intervals relating to the time required to obtain a component of a product and to and incorporate it into a product that is ready for delivery. The number of reserve products or components required may be computed by taking into account the demand for the component. The demand may suitably be expressed in terms of a forecast demand per time unit and a variance factor that provides a desired assurance that demand can be met in the face of deviations from the forecast demand. The forecast demand and variance factor are used to compute a reserve needed in light of the period of uncertainty for the product or component being considered.

摘要: A thermal insulation system for insulating a pipe is disclosed having an upper insulation member engageable with a lower insulation member to collectively surround the pipe. Each of the upper and lower insulation members preferably have a plurality of constant radius relief cuts at each end thereof, wherein the constant radius relief cuts extend from the end of each of the insulation members toward the center of the insulation member. In a preferred embodiment, each insulation member further includes a plurality of radial relief cuts extending radially from the inner surface of each of the insulation members toward the outer surface of the insulation member. The radii of curvature of the insulation members is preferably variable such that, for a portion of the insulation member, a gap exists between the inner surface of the insulation member and the pipe, allowing room for fluctuation in the size and shape of the insulation members.
