摘要： An image recording apparatus includes a conveyance roller which conveys the recording medium, a drive source for rotating the conveyance roller, a print head and a carriage mounted with the print head. The carriage includes an abutment portion. The image recording apparatus further includes a carriage position detector which detects a position of the carriage in a movement direction of the carriage and still further includes a rotating body which rotates in synchronization with the conveyance roller. The rotating body includes a reference portion which protrudes or depresses in the movement direction at a predetermined rotation phase of the rotating body and abut with the reference portion. Moreover, the image recording apparatus includes an origin determination section which, based on a result of the detection by the carriage position detector, determines an origin position of a rotation phase of the conveyance roller.

摘要： A droplet ejection apparatus which includes: a platen on which an ejection target medium is conveyed; a head that ejects droplets toward the platen, the head being provided in a reciprocable manner along the platen; a light emitting device that emits a light in an oblique direction toward the platen within a plane including a straight line along a moving direction of the head and a normal line with respect to the platen; a light receiving device that receives the light emitted from the light emitting device and regularly reflected by one of the platen and the ejection target medium; and a calculation device that calculates a distance between the one of the platen and the ejection target medium, and the head, based on a position at which the light receiving device receives the light during a movement of the head. One of the light emitting device and the light receiving device reciprocably moves integrally with the head, and the other is provided separately from the head.

摘要： An ink cartridge includes a bag filled with ink and sealed. The bag is housed in a cartridge case. The bag is formed out of a laminate including a ductile film and a rigid film which are laminated together. The case has a hole, through which a hollow needle can protrude from the outside into the case and pierce the bag to take out ink from the bag. The laminate has such a sealing effect that, when it is pierced by the needle, the pierced hole is blocked. The cartridge is suitable for an ink jet printer.

摘要： A paper cassette adapted to be removably mounted in a paper feed section of an image forming device. The paper cassette is generally constructed of a main frame and an auxiliary frame slidably engaged with the main frame. The auxiliary frame is moved forwardly or rearwardly relative to the main frame in accordance with a longitudinal size of the desired sheets of paper to be stored in the paper cassette. Thereafter, the auxiliary frame is fixedly positioned by a position adjusting member provided on the main frame.
