摘要： A housing contains a PTC element which can be easily inserted and removed. Conductive metal retaining elements of the housing are secured to the base of the housing, and retain the PTC element with a generally planar portion parallel to the electrodes of the PTC component. The retaining elements also have slidable contact between the elements and the top of the housing so as to modify the elastic deformation of the element and allow for insertion and removal of the PTC element.

摘要： A circuit protection device suitable for welding to a battery terminal or other substrate without adverse affects caused by weld splatter. The device contains a laminar PTC resistive element, e.g. made from a conductive polymer composition, sandwiched between first and second electrodes. A first electrical lead has a first attachment portion having an attachment surface which is attached to the first electrode, a first connection portion which can be connected to an electrical circuit and is spaced away from the PTC element, and a first barrier portion. The first barrier portion is positioned on the first lead between the first attachment and first connection portions and extends toward the second electrode. During resistance welding, the barrier portion prevents weld splatter from contacting the PTC resistive element.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a toner processing unit which is detachably fitted to a cleaning device and a developing unit arranged in the apparatus body. The unit has first and second container integrated with each other. The first container defines a storing portion storing toner which is to be supplied to the developing unit. The second container defines a recovery portion for receiving waste toner removed by the cleaning means. The storing portion and recovery portion are partitioned from each other by a partitioning wall of the unit. The partitioning wall has a through-hole through for introducing, when the amount of the developing agent received into the recovery portion exceeds a capacity of the recovery portion, an excess part of the developing agent into the storing portion.

摘要： A circuit protection arrangement particularly useful in protecting battery assemblies. The arrangement contains a first PTC device which has a first switching temperature Ts1, has a resistance at 20° C. R1, has a hold current at a first specified temperature IH1, and is made from a first PTC resistive element composed of a first conductive polymer composition attached to first and second electrodes, and a second PTC device which is electrically connected in series with the first PTC device, has a second switching temperature Ts2 which is less than Ts1, has a resistance at 20° C. R2 which is less than R1, has a hold current at the first specified temperature IH2 which is greater than IH1, and is made from a second PTC resistive element composed of a second conductive polymer composition attached to third and fourth electrodes. IH1 equals IH2 at a critical temperature Tcrit, such that at temperatures below Tcrit, the first PTC device switches into a high resistance state and the circuit protection arrangement is resettable, and at temperatures greater than Tcrit, the second PTC device switches into a high resistance state and initiates an action causing the circuit protection arrangement to permanently open.
