Abstract: An apparatus is provided for use by a network agent element or function to conduct link layer information related processing. The apparatus is caused to receive first link layer related information from a neighboring network element or function, forward second link layer related information to a communication network control element or function, receive third link layer related information from a communication network control element or function, and forward fourth link layer related information to a neighboring network element or function. The second and fourth link layer related information are generated using first and third link layer related information, respectively. The second and third link layer related information is received and forwarded via a wireless connection path of a wireless communication network. The apparatus is connected to or part of the/or communication element or function, a communication network control element or function and a communication network data element or function.

One method may include detecting, by a network entity, that two or more flows of packets are related. Abstract: This document discloses a solution for performing spectrum allocations. According to an aspect, there is provided a method comprising: performing, by a spectrum sharing adaptation system, allocation and transmission authorization of a shared spectrum resource to a network element of a communication network, wherein the shared spectrum resource is on frequencies not exclusively licensed to the communication network, and wherein the spectrum sharing adaptation system allocates the shared spectrum resource to the network element by using a first spectrum sharing protocol; acquiring, by the spectrum sharing adaptation system, allocation and transmission authorization of the shared spectrum resource from a spectrum resource manager managing utilization of spectrum resources, wherein the spectrum sharing adaptation system acquires the allocation of the shared spectrum resource by using a second spectrum sharing protocol different from the first spectrum sharing protocol; and performing, by the spectrum sharing adaptation system, adaptation between the first spectrum sharing protocol and the second spectrum sharing protocol.

Abstract: Configuration information including location and radio capabilities for first and second network nodes (for example, DeNB and RN respectively) are provided to register them to a spectrum access system (SAS). To establish a DeNB-RN backhaul link on a shared radio spectrum the DeNB sends the SAS a request for radio resources and authorization to transmit. The configuration information and/or the request indicates the DeNB and the RN belong to a backhaul system. The DeNB receives a grant for the radio resources and authorization, and broadcasts the authorization to the RN. The RN scans a broadcast channel while its receiver is active and its transmitter is inactive; detects the authorization to transmit, changes its transmitter from inactive to active, and transmits a reply to the DeNB's broadcast. The RN's reply to the DeNB's broadcast is used to establish the backhaul link.
