    摘要: A scanning projector is disclosed, including a light engine for providing a light beam, a beam scanner for scanning the light beam about two axes, and a controller operably coupled to the light engine and the beam scanner and configured to cause the beam scanner to non-linearly scan the light beam about the first and second axes within the field of view while varying brightness of the light beam to provide the image. The nonlinear scanning is performed such that consecutive scans provide conterminous portions of the image. This enables one to increase a local rate of providing the image across at least 75% of an area of the field of view is greater than 1500 degrees per second. The high local rate results in a significant reduction of artifacts caused by motion of displayed object, the users eyes or head, etc.

    摘要: A display assembly presented herein includes an inset display, a peripheral display, and a multiplexing optical assembly (MOA). The inset display has a first resolution and emits image light of a first polarization. The peripheral display has a second resolution and emits image light of a second polarization. The MOA receives the image light of the first polarization and the image light of the second polarization. The MOA then transforms the image light of the first polarization into a first portion of image light of a third polarization, and transforms the image light of the second polarization into a second portion of image light of the third polarization. The MOA directs the first portion of image light and the second portion of image light toward an eye-box. The display assembly can be implemented as a component of a head-mounted display of an artificial reality system.

The optical assembly is configured to direct the image light to an eye-box of the HMD corresponding to a location of a user's eye. The optical assembly includes a multifocal optical element, e.g., a bifocal optical element. A first portion of the multifocal optical element has a first optical power that is associated with a first image plane. The second portion of the multifocal optical element has a second optical power different than the first optical power, the second portion associated with a second image plane.
