摘要: A system comprising processing circuitry configured to receive a wirelessly-transmitted message from a medical device, the message indicating that the medical device detected an acute health event of the patient. In response to the message, the processing circuitry is configured to determine a location of the patient, determine an alert area based on the location of the patient, and control transmission of an alert of the acute heath event of the patient to any one or more computing devices of one or more potential responders within the alert area.

摘要: Implantable medical device including a pulsed-voltage generator and one or more implantable electrical leads. In one example, the implantable medical device supports the defibrillator and ablation modalities characterized by different respective sets of waveform parameters, such as the pulse amplitude and width. In some examples, the implantable medical device also supports a pacing modality. The electrodes used for the different modalities are variously selected from a plurality of electrodes located in distal portions of the implantable electrical leads and on the exterior surface of the implantable device box. An electronic controller of the implantable medical device is wirelessly programmable to appropriately control, e.g., in a patient-specific manner, operations of the pulsed-voltage generator and transitions between different modalities. Various examples of the disclosed implantable medical device can beneficially be used to provide to a cardiac patient a greater variety of treatment options without having to replace the implantable medical device.

摘要: A method includes cutting a septal wall between a right atrium and left atrium of a heart of a patient to form a multi-cuspid valvular shunt, and ablating septal wall tissue of at least a portion of the multi-cuspid valvular shunt to cause the ablated portion of the multi-cuspid valvular shunt to be biostable.

摘要: An interatrial shunting device including a tube and an anchoring assembly. The tube defines a first end opposite a second end, and a tube wall extending to and between the first and second ends. The tube wall is a solid body and defines a lumen of the tube, with the lumen being open at the first and second ends. The anchoring assembly is carried by the tube and is configured to secure the interatrial shunting device to a native atrial septum. The solid wall tube prevents tissue overgrowth across the atrial septum, and can have minimal exposure of the device in the left atrium to minimize stroke and other risks. In some examples, the anchoring assembly is configured to be self-transitionable from a delivery state to a deployed state.

摘要: An implant tool system includes an implantable medical lead and a delivery catheter. The implantable medical lead is configured to be delivered through an access point on a body of a patient. The delivery catheter is configured to deliver the implantable medical lead along an implantation path in the body of the patient. A visual marker is positioned on a body of the implantable medical lead. The visual marker is positioned proximal a distal end of the implantable medical lead by a distance indicative of a length of lead to introduce into the body of the patient. The visual marker may be positioned such that introduction of the length of lead into the body of the patient provides lead slack that reduces the likelihood of one or more of dislodgment of the implantable medical lead from the implant point or damage to a tissue of the patient.
