Abstract: A vehicle cruise control device controls traveling of a vehicle, the vehicle cruise control device includes arithmetic circuitry, and device processing circuitry to control actuation of one or more traveling devices mounted in the vehicle, based on an arithmetic result from the arithmetic circuitry. The arithmetic circuitry is configured to recognize a vehicle external environment based on an output from information acquisition circuitry that acquires information of the vehicle external environment; set a route to be traveled by the vehicle, in accordance with the recognized vehicle external environment; determine a target motion of the vehicle to follow the route that was set; and set operations of one or more body-related devices of the vehicle, based on the target motion of the vehicle, and generate control signals that control the one or more body-related devices.

Abstract: A vehicle travel control device includes computation circuitry, and a device controller that controls actuation of a traveling device mounted on a vehicle, based on a result from the computation circuitry. The computation circuitry identifies a vehicle outdoor environment based on an output from image circuitry that acquires image information of vehicle outdoor environment, sets a route on which the vehicle is to travel, in accordance with the vehicle outdoor environment previously identified, determines a target motion of the vehicle to follow the route previously set, calculates a target physical quantity to be executed by the traveling device to achieve the target motion previously determined, and calculates a controlled variable of the traveling device such that the target physical quantity calculated is achieved, and the device controller outputs a control signal to the traveling device so as to control the traveling device to control a motion of the vehicle.

Abstract: An automotive arithmetic system includes a main arithmetic device that determines a target motion of a motor vehicle so that the motor vehicle travel on a route generated based on a vehicle external environment estimated using deep learning based on an output from a vehicle external information acquisition device; and a backup arithmetic device that determines a backup target motion for causing the motor vehicle to travel on a travel route which is generated based on the output from the vehicle external information acquisition device and which the traveling motor vehicle takes until the motor vehicle stops at a stop position that satisfies a preset criterion. The automotive arithmetic system outputs a backup control signal to actuators in preference to a control signal when the main arithmetic device fails.

Driving operation information on an operation performed by a driver is input to both the arithmetic unit and the device controller in parallel. The device controller is configured to reflect the driving operation information in the control of the actuation of the traveling device.

The circuitry selects the first candidate route as a travel route of the motor vehicle under a condition the first candidate route is entirely within the static safe area (SA2), and does not select the first candidate route as the travel route of the motor vehicle when the first candidate route at least partially deviates from the static safe area (SA2).
