Abstract:
An intruder alarm includes a circuit with a photoresistive cell located in a housing with a piezoelectric crystal sound generator and battery to power the circuit and sound generator. A telescope concentrates light from a distance in a limited field of view upon the photoresistive cell to trigger the piezoelectric crystal sound generator when light intensity on the cell changes sufficiently from an ambient light intensity level.
Abstract:
A holiday action and musical display (10) comprising a plurality of separate display units (40, 42, 44, 46) electrically connected to a central control unit (12). Each display unit contains a figurine (147) resembling a character representation which is capable of being moved from a first position where the figurine is partially blocked from a user's view, to a second position where the figurine is visible to a user. The central control unit accesses several pluralities of stored sounds and phrases which are stored in electronic memory (305), with the sounds of each plurality having a common timbre distinct from the timbres of the other pluralities of sounds, and with each timbre being associated with a particular character representation. The accessed sounds are played on a speaker (12) and the central control unit synchronizes the movements of the figurines with the accessed sounds so that the figurines appear to be jointly singing one of a plurality of stored melodies.
Abstract:
A digital rectangular wave musical tone generator (10) activates a speaker (12) to produce sounds of aural quality similar to musical instruments, while varying the intensity of light output from a light-emitting diode (13). The intensity variations of this light controls the resistance of a photoresistor (16), which varies the power supplied to decorative lights by a power control device (19), thus varying the intensity of the decorative lights in synchronism with the sound.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for sensing, sampling and performing calculations on a parameter of a physical quantity at a plurality of remote locations comprising a plurality of remote sensing units and at least one processing unit linked to said plurality of remote sensing units via a two way communication link. Parameters of a physical quantity are sensed and sampled, calculations are performed and accumulated and transmitted, on demand, provided to the processing unit using a plurality of frequency bands one of which is identified as having valid data.
