    Abstract: A video camera comprises a housing (102) configured of a top housing portion (104), a mid-housing portion (106) and a bottom housing portion (108). The top housing portion is configured as a circular and rounded exterior contoured wall (110) having an exterior recessed feature (112) formed along an edge (114). The mid-housing portion (106) is formed of an IR window ring (116) having an alignment tab (118) extending therefrom, the alignment tab being aligned and recessed within the exterior recessed feature (112) of the rounded exterior contoured wall (110) of the top housing portion (104), and the bottom housing portion (108) providing a camera dome (120) seated within and protruding from the IR window ring (116).

    Abstract: A display (110) providing a tactile display user interface is provided. A display sub-assembly (204) with lens (104) is mounted within an internal frame (218) having a base (214). A perimeter seal (208) is mounted between the lens (104) and the internal frame (218). Mechanical switches (210) are disposed between a back surface of the display and the base (214) of the internal frame (218). The display sub-assembly (204) and lens (104) is moveable relative to the internal frame (218) resulting in actuation of a single mechanical switch in response to the display being pressed. Sealing of the lens (104) to the internal frame (218) being maintained during switch actuation.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for providing simultaneous display views from a display of a portable electronic device at multiple angles. The display includes a first set of light-emitting diodes positioned in a display field and oriented to produce a first visual data depiction viewable at a first perspective angle. The display also includes a second set of light-emitting diodes co-positioned in the display field with the first set of light-emitting diodes, oriented to produce a second visual data depiction viewable at a second perspective angle, and oriented to make the second visual data depiction non-viewable from the first perspective angle. The second perspective angle is different than the first perspective angle and the second visual data depiction is different than the first visual data depiction.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of a dual-watch collar-wearable communication device. One embodiment takes the form of a system that includes left-side and right-side audio speakers, a microphone, left-side and right-side push-to-talk (PTT) buttons and a controller programmed to carry out a set of functions. The set of functions include routing audio received via a first channel to the left-side audio speaker, routing audio received via a second channel to the right-side audio speaker, routing audio received via the microphone via the first channel when the left-side PTT button is actuated, and routing audio received via the microphone via the second channel when the right-side PTT button is actuated.

The portable communication device includes a housing, a screen supported by the housing, and a speaker supported by the housing. A carrier releasably supports the portable communication device. The carrier includes a body having a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a surface extending between the first and second ends. The screen of the portable communication device faces the surface of the body. The surface is spaced apart from me screen to form an acoustic tunnel between the screen and the surface. The speaker of the portable communication device directs sound into the acoustic tunnel.

    Abstract: A rotary control knob (110) for a portable radio (100) utilizes a flexible shaft (112) as a tether to provide a plurality of flexible positions. The flexible shaft (112) is coupled to a switch mechanism (116) located in the radio housing (102). The rotary control knob (110) can be slid up and down the flexible shaft (112) and the flexible shaft can be bent to provide improved user access to the knob, such as for gloved usage.
