Abstract: A method for switching between different RATs is provided. The method is executed by a mobile communications device camping on a first cell using a first Radio Access Technology (RAT). The method includes: determining, by a controller of the mobile communications device, a data transmission rate of the mobile communications device in the first cell; sending, by the controller, a first measurement report according to the determined data transmission rate, wherein the first measurement report is intended to trigger a handover procedure initiated by the first cell or to release a radio resource control (RRC) connection; and switching, by the controller, to camp on a second cell using a second RAT via the handover procedure or a local releasing procedure after the sending of the first measurement report.

Abstract: A dual Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) transmission method is provided. The dual SIM transmission method may include the following steps. A first SIM of an apparatus may perform a first service from a first serving cell. Then, a processor of the apparatus may determine whether the apparatus needs to be switched to a dual SIM dual active (DSDA) mode in response to a second SIM of the apparatus requiring a second service while the first SIM is performing the first service. In response to determining that the apparatus needs to be switched to the DSDA mode, the processor may select a target cell to make the apparatus support the DSDA mode.

Abstract: A capability reporting method and a modem chip performing the same are provided. The capability reporting method includes the following steps. Abstract: A mobile communication device including a Radio Frequency (RF) device and a baseband processor is provided. The RF device performs wireless transmission and reception to and from one or more cells. The baseband processor uses a first subscriber identity to establish a connection with a serving cell via the RF device to perform a first communication procedure, and in response to completing the first communication procedure or the first communication procedure being interrupted by a second communication procedure associated with a second subscriber identity, uses the first subscriber identity to send a measurement report to the serving cell via the RF device. In particular, the measurement report indicates a reported signal quality of the serving cell is poor enough to release the connection.
