Abstract:
A method for enhancing User Equipment (UE) handling in a limited service state over non-Third Generation Partnership Project (non-3GPP) access is provided. A UE sends a REGISTRATION REQUEST message or a SERVICE REQUEST message to a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) over non-3GPP access. The UE receives a REGISTRATION REJECT message or a SERVICE REJECT message from the PLMN over non-3GPP access. In particular, the REGISTRATION REJECT message or the SERVICE REJECT message indicates serving network not authorized. In response to the reception of the REGISTRATION REJECT message or the SERVICE REJECT message which indicates serving network not authorized, the UE enters a limited service state and performs a non-3GPP access network selection.
Abstract:
A mobile communications device, operating as a Mobile Terminal (MT), is provided. In the mobile communications device, a receiver is configured to receive a Router Advertisement from a service network, a processor is configured to set an O-Flag of the Router Advertisement to 1 when the O-Flag of the Router Advertisement from the service network is set to 0, and a transmitter is configured to transmit the Router Advertisement to a Terminal Equipment (TE), wherein the TE transmits a DHCPv6 INFORMATION-REQUEST message to the MT when the TE receives the Router Advertisement.
Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses. The method can include receiving, at a user equipment (UE), system information broadcast from one or more base stations which may be shared by one or more PLMNs and/or one or more SNPNs, the system information including an indication of whether accessing an SNPN using home service provider (HSP) subscription of a HSP network is supported. The UE can be configured with subscription information of the HSP network. The subscription information can include the HSP subscription and a selection list that includes one or more candidate networks each represented by an SNPN identifier. The method can further include responsive to the system information, selecting a network from the selection list according to a priority order of the candidate networks, and accessing the network selected from the selection list using the HSP subscription.
Abstract:
A method of UE onboarding services can include receiving a first reject message at a UE from a first wireless communication network during a first onboarding process of the UE based on a set of default UE credentials stored in the UE. An identity of the first wireless communication network can be added to a forbidden network list for onboarding services. The UE can perform a network selection process, based on the forbidden network list including the identity of the first wireless communication network, to select a second wireless communication network for a second onboarding process of the UE. The first wireless communication network on the forbidden network list is excluded from available candidate wireless communication networks that support onboarding services. The same set of default UE credentials stored in the UE are used for the second onboarding process of the UE.
Abstract:
A method for enhancing User Equipment (UE) handling of Non-Access Stratum (NAS) signaling connection release is provided. A UE establishes a NAS signaling connection with a mobile communication network belonging to a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN). The UE receives a NAS message including a Closed Access Group (CAG) information list from the mobile communication network while camping on a CAG cell. The UE starts a timer in response to determining that no entry for the current PLMN is included in the received CAG information list. The UE locally releases the established NAS signaling connection upon expiry of the timer.
Abstract:
A method for handling network recommended Mobile Country Code (MCC) information is provided. A User Equipment (UE) receives an indication of country of UE location from a satellite-access 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) network. The UE stores the indication and starts a timer in response to receiving the indication. The UE keeps the stored indication valid until the timer expires.
Abstract:
A mobile communications device, operating as a Mobile Terminal (MT), is provided. In the mobile communications device, a receiver is configured to receive a DHCPv6 INFORMATION-REQUEST message from a Terminal Equipment (TE). A processor is configured to generate a DHCPv6 REPLY message when the MT gets at least one of an IPv6 DNS and a SIP server address. In addition, a transmitter is configured to transmit the DHCPv6 REPLY message to the TE. In operation, the MT transmits the DHCPv6 REPLY message to the TE according to at least one of the DNS and SIP server address from a service network or pre-stored in a memory.
Abstract:
The method and apparatus for accelerating connection establishment in a mobile communications system are provided. The method includes transmitting, by a user equipment, an Activate PDP Context Request to a network; determining whether the user equipment can be confirmed that the network received the Activate PDP Context Request by an lower layer; shortening a default timer value and retransmitting the Activate PDP Context Request to the network after the shortened default value if the lower layer does not confirm that the network received the Activate PDP Context Request; and preserving the default timer value if the lower layer confirms that the network received the Activate PDP Context Request.
Abstract:
A method for expedited tunnel establishment with a non-Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) interworking gateway to access a 3GPP network is provided. A User Equipment (UE) initiates establishment of an Internet Protocol secure (IPsec) tunnel with a first non-3GPP interworking gateway associated with the 3GPP network. The UE probes availability of a second non-3GPP interworking gateway associated with the 3GPP network before the IPsec tunnel with the first non-3GPP interworking gateway is established successfully. The UE initiates establishment of an IPsec tunnel with the second non-3GPP interworking gateway in response to failing to establish the IPsec tunnel with the first non-3GPP interworking gateway and the second non-3GPP interworking gateway being available. The UE accesses the 3GPP network over the IPsec tunnel with the second non-3GPP interworking gateway.
Abstract:
A method for enhancing User Equipment (UE) handling of UE Route Selection Policy (URSP) rules selection is provided. A UE initiates to send a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) of an application to a mobile communication network. The UE determines that it has no URSP signaled from the mobile communication network. In response to there being pre-configured URSP rules of a Home Public Land Mobile Network (HPLMN) in a Universal Subscriber Identity Module (USIM), the UE uses only the pre-configured URSP rules of the HPLMN in the USIM to derive configuration of a PDU session via which to send the PDU of the application.
