Abstract:
A method for enhancing mobility of a communications apparatus is provided. The method includes the steps of: establishing a connection with a cell; measuring one or more parameters of one or more cells; transmitting a measurement report to a network device according to the measured parameters of the one or more cells; determining whether a mobility command is received from the network device after transmitting the measurement report; and triggering a connection release procedure based on no mobility command being received from the network device after transmitting the measurement report.
Abstract:
Various solutions for cell reselection with interference avoidance with respect to user equipment and network apparatus in mobile communications are described. An apparatus may receive frequency information of a target cell from a broadcast channel of a serving cell. The apparatus may determine an overlapped bandwidth region between the serving cell and the target cell according to the frequency information. The apparatus may compare a signal quality of the serving cell in the overlapped bandwidth region with a signal quality of the target cell in the overlapped bandwidth region. The apparatus may determine whether to perform a cell reselection according to a comparison result.
Abstract:
A method for shortening a circuit switch fallback (CSFB) performing time includes determining a plurality of weighting values each associated with one of a plurality of frequencies to be measured during a CSFB procedure, determining a frequency measurement sequence for scheduling the frequencies to be measured in sequence according to the determined weighting values, and measuring a signal quality on the frequencies according to the frequency measurement sequence.
Abstract:
A mobile communication device including a Radio Frequency (RF) device and a baseband processor is provided. The RF device performs wireless transmission and reception to and from one or more cells. The baseband processor uses a first subscriber identity to establish a connection with a serving cell via the RF device to perform a first communication procedure, and in response to completing the first communication procedure or the first communication procedure being interrupted by a second communication procedure associated with a second subscriber identity, uses the first subscriber identity to send a measurement report to the serving cell via the RF device. In particular, the measurement report indicates a reported signal quality of the serving cell is poor enough to release the connection.
Abstract:
Various solutions for measurement report enhancement with respect to user equipment and network apparatus in mobile communications are described. An apparatus may initiate a voice or video call with a network node. The apparatus may determine whether Single Radio Voice Call Continuity before alerting stage (bSRVCC) is supported by the network node. The apparatus may cancel a transmission of a measurement report to the network node before an alerting stage when the bSRVCC is not supported by the network node. The apparatus may perform the voice or video call with the network node.
Abstract:
A mobile communication device for avoiding location exposure in a User Equipment (UE) information procedure includes a wireless transceiver, configured to perform wireless transmission and reception to and from a service network. The device also includes a controller, configured to determine whether a Radio Resource Control (RRC) security has been activated between the mobile communication device and the service network, and in response to the RRC security not having been activated and location information of the mobile communication device being present, send a first measurement report without the location information of the mobile communication device to the service network via the wireless transceiver or does not send a second measurement report comprising the location information of the mobile communication device; to the service network via the wireless transceiver after receiving measurement configuration message.
Abstract:
A mobile communication device including a wireless transceiver and a controller is provided. The wireless transceiver performs wireless transmission and reception to and from a service network. The controller determines whether a Radio Resource Control (RRC) security has been activated between the mobile communication device and the service network when receiving measurement configuration from the service network via the wireless transceiver. In response to the RRC security not having been activated and location information of the mobile communication device being present, the controller sends a first measurement report not including the location information of the mobile communication device to the service network via the wireless transceiver, or the controller does not send a second measurement report including the location information of the mobile communication device to the service network via the wireless transceiver.
Abstract:
Various solutions for selecting large-bandwidth cell with respect to user equipment and network apparatus in mobile communications are described. An apparatus may measure a first cell. The apparatus may measure a second cell. The apparatus may add an offset value to a measurement report of the second cell. The apparatus may transmit the measurement report of the second cell to a serving cell. A second bandwidth of the second cell may be greater than a first bandwidth of the first cell.

Abstract:
Concepts and examples pertaining to enhancement for wireless local area network (WLAN) measurement in mobile communications, such as Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA), are described. A processor of an electronic apparatus receives a message from a network, with the message including a measurement object listing one or more WLANs associated with the electronic apparatus except for a first WLAN to which the electronic apparatus is communicatively connected. The processor performs measurement of one or more aspects of the one or more WLANs and the first WLAN. The processor also reports to the network a result of the measurement regarding the one or more WLANs and the first WLAN, even though the first WLAN was not listed in the measurement object received from the network.
