Abstract: An impact tool includes a switch for driving the tool accessory, an operation member configured to be movable between an OFF position and an ON position, a first lock member configured to lock the operation member in the ON position, a second lock member configured to be movable between a lock position and a lock-release position in response to an external operation by a user, and a holding mechanism configured to hold the second lock member in the lock position and also in the lock-release position. The second lock member in the lock position is capable of locking the operation member in the OFF position, and the second lock member in the lock-release position is incapable of locking the operation member in the OFF position.

Abstract: A power tool, such as a rotary hammer or hammer drill, includes a first housing that contains a motor and a drive mechanism for linearly reciprocally driving a tool accessory, and a second housing that includes a handle, a first portion and a second portion. At least one elastic element connects the first and second housings such that the handle is biased away from the first housing. A first set of sliding contact surfaces is defined on or connected to the first housing and the first portion of the second housing. A second set of sliding contact surfaces is defined on or connected to the first housing and the second portion of the second housing. The first and second sets of sliding contact surfaces are located on opposite sides of the motor such that the rotational axis of the motor intersects the first and second sets of sliding contact surfaces.

Abstract: A power tool includes a motor, a housing, a battery mounting part, and a battery protection part. The battery mounting part is provided to the housing on an opposite side from a working axis across the motor in an extending direction of a rotation axis of the motor. The battery mounting part is configured such that one end portion of at least one battery is mounted to the battery mounting part and an opposite end portion of the at least one battery in the extending direction of the rotation axis is exposed from the housing. The battery protection part is provided to an outer surface portion of the housing and configured to protect at least one corner region of the opposite end portion of the at least one battery against external force when the one end portion is mounted to the battery mounting part.

Abstract: A rotary hammer selectively operates in multiple modes including a first mode and a second mode. The rotary hammer includes a switch, a motor, a switch manipulation member, a locking member, and a mode detecting device. The switch manipulation member includes a body, and a protrusion that is movable between a protruding position and a retracted position. The body houses a solenoid configured to operate based on a detection result of the mode detecting device. The locking member is movable between an unlock position and a lock position where the locking member holds the switch manipulation member in an ON position by abutting the protrusion in the protruding position. The protrusion is integrated with a plunger of the solenoid. The protrusion is configured to be in the protruding position when the present mode is the first mode, and in the retracted position when the present mode is the second mode.

Abstract: A reciprocating tool includes a motor, a driving mechanism, a body housing, a movable part, and a vibration control mechanism. The driving mechanism includes a reciprocating member configured to reciprocate in a first direction. The movable part is connected to the body housing via a first elastic member and a second elastic member to be relatively movable in the first direction. The vibration control mechanism includes at least one weight configured to move in a direction opposite to the reciprocating member. The center of gravity of the at least one weight is offset from the driving axis in a second direction. In the second direction, the first elastic member is closer to the center of gravity than the second elastic member. A load of the first elastic member when the movable part is placed in a closer position is smaller than a load of the second elastic member.
