Abstract:
A double claw stump cutting tooth having two cutting heads having cutting faces angled to slice into a stump with both heads adapted for simultaneously cutting or chipping a stump.
Abstract:
A tool assembly for attachment to a cutter wheel for use in tree stump removal is described. The assembly includes a tooth and a pocket. The tooth includes a cutting head and a shank depending from the head. The shank includes a first flat opposite a second flat. The pocket defines opposing wheel and exterior faces. A tooth receiving slot is formed in the wheel face and includes a base. In this regard, the tooth shank defines one of a projection and a recess and the pocket defines the other of the projection and the recess. Upon coupling the tooth shank to the tooth receiving slot, substantially an entirety of a peripheral edge of the projection contacts a wall of the recess to resist a torque applied to the cutting head.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to impact-type cutting tools used to pulverize and displace road construction materials, aggregate, earth strata, or the like. In particular, the present invention relates to a rotatable tool bit and assembly for use in such impact-type cutting tools, wherein tool bit life is improved and tool bit change-out time is reduced.
Abstract:
A universal pocket and method for attaching a tooth to a cutter wheel of a tree stump removal machine is described. The pocket includes a pocket body defining opposing wheel and exterior faces, opposing planar leading and trailing edges, a tooth receiving slot, a counter sunk bore, and a threaded bore. The tooth receiving slot is linearly formed in the wheel face and extends between the planar leading edge and the planar trailing edge. The counter sunk bore extends between the exterior face and the wheel face and has an enlarged diameter adjacent to the exterior face. The threaded bore extends between the exterior face and the wheel face. In particular, the bores are located on either side of the tooth receiving slot and equidistant between the planar leading and trailing edges. In this regard, the pocket is symmetric with respect to a line bisecting the bores.
