Abstract: Disclosed is a method of transmitting a message by a device in a wireless communication system according to at least one of the various embodiments. The method includes: obtaining information regarding a status of a battery of the device; and transmitting a personal safety message (PSM) including a first data element (DE) for notifying an event occurring on the device, based on the information regarding the battery status of the device and a battery charging threshold. Based on that a field for notifying a low battery status in the first DE is set to a TRUE value, the PSM may be configured to further include a second DE for providing information regarding a PSM transmission interval of the device in the low battery status.
