Abstract: A refrigerator includes a cabinet that forms a chamber, a partition wall configured to partition the chamber into a storage space and an air flow path, a partition shelf configured to partition the storage space into a first space and a second space, a heat exchanger provided in the air flow path, and a first damper provided in the air flow path to adjust air supplied to the first space. The top of the heat exchanger is lower than the bottom surface of the partition shelf. The first damper is provided at a height overlapping the partition shelf in a horizontal direction.

The refrigerator includes a cabinet having a storage compartment, a duct unit formed with a plurality of discharge holes for discharge of cold air to the storage compartment, the duct unit providing a path for movement of the cold air, a guide provided inside the duct unit, the guide being configured to guide the cold air to be discharged to the storage compartment by dividing the cold air, moving to the top of the duct unit, into opposite sides, and a compressor configured to compress a refrigerant so as to supply the cold air to the duct unit. Abstract: A method for controlling a refrigerator includes turning on a compressor to operate with a predetermined cooling power for cooling a storage compartment, turning off the compressor when a temperature of the storage compartment reaches a temperature equal to or lower than a first reference temperature, and turning on the compressor again when the temperature of the storage compartment reaches a temperature equal to or higher than a second reference temperature higher than the first reference temperature. In the turning on the compressor again, the compressor is operated with a cooling power determined based on an on slope, which is a temperature change slope of the storage compartment during an on time of the compressor, and an off slope, which is a temperature change slope of the storage compartment during an off time of the compressor.
