Abstract: A shoe treating apparatus including a sensor part including at least one sensor, a motor part configured to control tilting of at least one shelf, and a processor electrically connected to the sensor part and the motor part is provided. The processor may identify an approach of a user by using the at least one sensor, and may generate, based on the identified user approach, a control signal for adjusting a tilt speed of the at least one shelf. Also, the processor may transmit the generated control signal to the motor part to adjust the tilt speed of the at least one shelf. A method of operating a shoe treating apparatus is also provided.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, a washing apparatus may be provided that is characterized by comprising: an annular rotary knob provided for course selection; a display for selectively displaying a course screen showing information on a course selected from within the radial directions of the rotary knob, and an options screen for changing options for at least one wash water temperature; washing intensity, number of rinses, and spin-dry intensity within the course; a switching input part provided within the radial directions of the rotary knob in order to switch between the course screen and the options screen through a selection by a user; and a single variable input part provided to change the options when in the options screen and to make inputs unrelated to the options when in the course screen.

Abstract: A shoe treating apparatus includes an upper cabinet, a lower cabinet disposed below the upper cabinet, an electronic component part disposed below the lower cabinet, a sensor part, and a processor electrically connected to the electronic component part and the sensor part. The processor may identify at least one of a material, a type, and a condition of at least one shoe in the upper cabinet, and based on the identification, perform normal treatment on the at least one shoe in the upper cabinet through the electronic component part. The processor may identify at least one of a material, a type, and a condition of at least one shoe in the lower cabinet, and based on the identification, perform intensive treatment on the at least one shoe in the lower cabinet through the electronic component part. A method of operating the shoe treating apparatus is also provided.
