Abstract: The present invention is a telescopic drive device of a device for holding a surgical instrument. The telescopic drive device includes a support; a first telescopic stage carried by the support; a first telescopic stage carried by the support, the first telescopic stage being able to perform a first motion with respect to the support; a second telescopic stage, which is able to perform a second motion with respect to the first telescopic stage; and a drive system, which is operable to drive the first and second motions. The first telescopic element performs the first motion and the second telescopic element simultaneously performs the second motion. The telescopic drive is operable to support a further device and to move the further device such that the movement is centered around a point or wherein each of the telescopic elements is arcuate.

Abstract: Aspects relate to structures for providing connections between electronic components, such as signaling devices and power sources utilized in the provisioning of telecommunication services. Further aspects relate to a bus bar and novel methods for utilizing bus bars. In one embodiment, a bus bar may be vertically positionable within a breakout box. The bus bar may be substantially parallel with a back of the structure such that an upper end of the bus bar is positioned above a lower end. Structures and bus bar may be configured to permit a cable to traverse above a first orifice of the first plurality of orifices and bend along a bending radius to traverse in a downward vertical direction to place the cable in direct operative connection with a first orifice of the bus bar. Further aspects relate to arrangement of components with structures.

Abstract: A clutch mechanism for use with a carrier of a linear drive device includes a housing, a first gear, and a first clutch arrangement. The first gear coupled to the housing and has gear teeth to engage a threaded shaft of a linear drive device . Rotation of the shaft causes the housing to move along the shaft in a first mode of operation. The first clutch arrangement prevents substantial rotation of the first gear. The first gear permits rotation of the first gear with respect to the housing. The housing can be manually moved along a length of the shaft, in a second mode of operation, by exerting a force on the housing. The rotational force applied to the first gear through the interaction of the threaded shaft and the gear teeth exceeds the first threshold.

Abstract: A toilet comprising a bowl sized to contain a fluid and a valve movable between an open position in which a liquid is delivered to the bowl and a closed position in which the liquid does not flow to the bowl. A sensor is operable to sense a liquid level within the bowl and an actuator is movable between a flush position and an idle position. A controller is operable to move the valve to the open position in response to movement of the actuator to the flush position and a liquid level within the bowl below a predetermined level.

Abstract: A receiver for a mobile telephone system operating in a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) system, includes a gain control circuit coupled to receive an input signal, the circuit being switchable under the control of digital control signals between three gain or attenuation levels. An equalizer is coupled to receive the output signal from the gain control circuit. A signal strength unit determines the value of the received signals and provides the digital control signals so as to set the gain or attenuation level constant for a time slot of the TDMA system. The signal strength unit records the determined signal value so as to set the level of said gain control circuit prior to a predetermined time slot based upon measurements made during a preceding time period.

Abstract: A pharmaceutical tablet consists of a substrate containing a medicament and may be covered with a coating, said coating including a pigment comprising a natural water insoluble edible powder dyed with an edible natural dye. The pigment for coloring the tablet, or other pharmaceutical products, as well as food and cosmetics, is made by suspending a natural water insoluble edible powdered substrate in an aqueous vehicle and dyeing the suspended powdered substrate with an edible natural dye. The liquid is removed to obtain the dry pigment powder of the invention which then can be suspended in a suspending medium and used for coating products to be colored such as food, drug and cosmetic products.
