Abstract: A fixing device includes a fixing member, a pressing member, a cover, and a separation member. The cover is movable between a closing position at which a conveyance path is formed and an opening position at which the conveyance path is exposed. The cover includes a recess. The separation member is movable between a contact position at which the separation member comes in contact with a face of the fixing member and a withdrawing position at which the separation member is separated from the fixing member. The separation member separates a medium from the face of the fixing member in a state in which the separation member is arranged at the contact position. A tip end part of the separation member enters an interior of the recess of the cover in a state in which the separation member is arranged at the withdrawing position.

Abstract: A sheet conveying device includes a sheet detection unit and a position adjusting mechanism. The position adjusting mechanism is disposed on a downstream side of the sheet detection unit in a sheet conveying direction in the sheet conveying path, includes an adjusting roller pair, and performs skew correction and positional displacement correction of a sheet, while conveying the sheet. The sheet conveying path includes a first conveying roller pair disposed on an upstream side of the position adjusting mechanism in the sheet conveying direction, and a curved part disposed between the adjusting roller pair and the first conveying roller pair, which curves in an S shape so as to be convex in a front and back side direction of the sheet alternately at different positions in the sheet conveying direction. The adjusting roller pair nips and conveys the sheet together with the first conveying roller pair.

With the first or second roller arranged at the reference position, the first pre-transfer guide is arranged at a first guide position.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a roller pair, a paper dust collecting member, a scraping member, and a paper dust receiver. The paper dust collecting member can be drawn out from the apparatus main body and is disposed along an axis direction of the roller pair so as to collect paper dust adhered to one roller of the roller pair. The scraping member scrapes off paper dust adhered to the paper dust collecting member when the paper dust collecting member is moved in a draw-out direction. Abstract: A fixing device includes a heating belt, a pressing roller, a pressing member and a cap. The pressing member faces an inner circumferential face of the heating belt via a lubricant. The cap is rotating together with the heating belt. The cap has a disk part, a cylindrical part, a gear and a hole part. The cylindrical part has an inner circumferential face coming into contact with the outer circumferential face of the heating belt. The gear is formed integrally with an outer face of the disk part. The hole part penetrates from the inner circumferential face of the cylindrical part to a face between adjacently disposed teeth of the gear. The lubricant flowed from the inner circumferential face of the heating belt to the outer circumferential face of the heating belt flows to a tooth surface of the gear through the hole part.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, an image input portion, a transfer unit, a transfer voltage power supply, and a control portion. The transfer unit includes a transfer roller having a metal shaft and an elastic layer laid around an outer circumferential face of the metal shaft to form a transfer nip by keeping the elastic layer in pressed contact with an image carrying member, and transfers a toner image formed on the image carrying member to a recording medium as it passes through the transfer nip. The transfer unit includes, as the transfer roller, a first roller, and a second roller having a larger axial-size elastic layer compared to the first roller. The control portion arranges the first or second roller opposite the image carrying member according to width-direction sizes of the recording medium and image data fed to the image input portion.
