    Abstract: The developing device includes a development container, a developer carrier, and a cover member. The development container has an opening. The developer carrier has a development area. The cover member, including a front face portion, an upper face portion, a lower face portion, a side face portion, and reinforcing ribs, is removably fitted to the development container such that the developer carrier is covered with at least the front face portion and the upper face portion.     Abstract: A developing device includes a development casing, a developer carrying member, a regulating blade, a pair of pressing members, and a blade seal member. The development casing has an opening part. The developer carrying member has a developing area. The blade seal member includes a first layer material and a second layer material. The development casing has facing surfaces. The second layer material has positioning protrusions protruding from the first layer material in a rotation axis direction at positions inside both ends of the first layer material in the rotation axis direction, so as to contact the facing surfaces and be positioned in the rotation axis direction. When the second layer material is positioned in the rotation axis direction, the first layer material is pressed in contact with the pressing members in the rotation axis direction.

    Abstract: A developing device includes a developing container, a developer carrier, a seal member, and a pair of pressing members. The developing container has an opening. The seal member includes a contact end part, a first blocking part, and an interposed end part. Each of the pressing members has a pressing surface in which a cutout recess is formed. The developing container includes a second blocking part that is adjacent to each end part of the first blocking part in a rotary shaft direction and protrudes upward. The interposed end part is located at such a position as to overlap the cutout recess with respect to a circumferential direction, and the second blocking part is located at such a position as to overlap the cutout recess with respect to the rotary shaft direction.

    Abstract: A fixing device includes a heating rotating body, a pressure rotating body, and a fixing frame. The fixing frame supports the heating rotating body and the pressure rotating body. The fixing frame includes a pair of side plates and a plurality of stays. The side plates are disposed to face each other, and supports both axial end portions of the heating rotating body and both axial end portions of the pressure rotating body. The stays are disposed between the side plates.     Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a fixing device, a shutter, a lock member and an attachment member. The fixing device is supported by an apparatus main body. The shutter is movable to a close position and to an open position. The lock member is movable to a holding position holding the shutter to the close position and an allowable position allowing the shutter to move from the close position to the open position. The lock member is moved to the holding position to hold the shutter to the close position in a state where the attachment member is detached from the apparatus main body. In the middle of attaching the attachment member to the apparatus main body, the attachment member moves the lock member from the holding position to the allowable position and then moves the shutter from the close position to the open position.

    Abstract: A fixing device includes a heater holder, a stay, and a pressure roller. The fixing device press the stay toward the pressure roller to form a pressure area. The stay includes a pair of side plates. The heater holder includes pedestal ribs on which the pair of side plates are placed. The pair of side plates are formed such that center portions in the width direction protrude more toward the pressure area than both end portions. The pedestal ribs are higher at a center than at both ends in the width direction. In the fixing device, α−X−Y is set to a value close to zero, where an amount of protrusion of the side plates at a predetermined position in the width direction is X, a height of the pedestal ribs is Y, and an amount of deformation of the stay in the pressure area is α.

The seal member includes a contact end part that makes contact with an entire region of an outer circumferential surface of the developer carrier in its rotary shaft direction and is one of end edges of the seal member in a longitudinal direction thereof on a side near the developer carrier and an interposed end part that is interposed between each of both end parts of the developer carder and a corresponding one of the pressing members and is an end edge of the seal member orthogonal to the contact end part, and a chamfered shape is formed at a corner between the contact end part and the interposed end part.
