Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a controller that allows a display device to display a settings screen for setting of a function by a user and executes a job based on a user setting made through the settings screen; and a backup device that backs up as backup data the user setting on a storage device each time the user setting is made. When execution of the job based on the user setting is completed, the controller deletes the user setting from the storage device. When, in newly displaying a settings screen on the display device for another job, the user setting for a function configurable on the settings screen is saved on the storage device, the controller determines the content of the user setting as a content of a setting for the job and allows the display device to display the settings screen showing the content of the setting.

Abstract: In an image processing apparatus, upon input of first identification information through an identification information input device and a first document image through an image input device, a control device functioning as a controller recognizes a first text in the first document image, extracts a plurality of words constituting the first text, selects first symbols or characters from the first identification information in a predetermined first order, selects first words from the plurality of words in a predetermined second order, inserts, upon each selection of the first symbol or character and the first word, a predetermined sign and the first symbol or character between the first word and the next first word to generate a first character string, converts the first character string to a first 2D barcode, and assigns the first 2D barcode to the first document image. An output device outputs the first 2D barcode-assigned first document image.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a storage device and a control device. The storage device stores a document. The control device includes a processor and functions, through the processor executing a control program, as a character recognizer and a tag generator. The character recognizer analyzes the document stored in the storage device and recognizes characters contained in the document. The tag generator analyzes, based on a recognition result of the character recognizer, a sequence of characters contained in the document and generates a tag expressing a feature of descriptive content of the document.

Abstract: In an in-hand apparatus being operated by a user, a display device of the in-hand apparatus displays a list of image forming apparatuses that can access a cloud server, an input device of the in-hand apparatus designates an image forming apparatus selected out of the list according to a selection input, as remote apparatus. When the display device of the in-hand apparatus displays a user box stored in a storage device of the remote apparatus, and the input device of the in-hand apparatus receives an input for selecting a file out of the user box, the remote apparatus transmits the selected file to the cloud server, and the cloud server stores the file and a file name to which information proper to the remote apparatus is added, and the in-hand apparatus receives the file and the file name from the cloud server.
