    Abstract: A printing computing device connects to a multi-function printing (MFP) device to enable additional functionality and capabilities not offered by the MFP device. The printing computing device connects to a network to receive print jobs from external devices within the network. The printing computing device processes the print jobs according to rules such that print jobs are processed accordingly. The printing computing device also includes firmware not available on the MFP device such that print jobs not supported by the MFP device still may be processed. The printing computing device also includes an engine that determines whether an incoming print job is a PDL print job or a command to perform a function not available on the MFP device.

    Abstract: A print data semantic analysis system may comprise a print data handler and a database. The print data handler may include a semantic analyzer and a computer. The semantic analyzer may include a semantic identifier and a semantic operator. Semantic pattern(s), rule(s), and/or semantic category or categories may be stored in mutually associated fashion at the database. The print data handler may be a printer driver having a page description language (PDL) generator. The print data handler may be a raster image processor (RIP), a print server, or a printer having a PDL interpreter. The database may take the form of source code, function(s), lookup or other such table(s), and/or any other suitable format(s). The database may be a function table containing function(s) incorporating the semantic pattern(s), rule(s), and/or semantic category or categories.

    Abstract: A method of generating transformed print jobs includes inputting a page description language print job and receiving a selection of one or more transformation features and one or more transformation feature settings for each selected transformation feature. For each transformation feature selected, all dependent transformation features are identified. For each dependent transformation feature identified, all dependent feature settings are identified. All combinations of transformation features, transformation feature settings, dependent transformation features, and dependent feature settings are determined. For each combination, the inputted print job is transformed according to the transformation features, transformation feature settings, dependent transformation features, and dependent feature settings of the combination and a transformed print job is outputted.

    Abstract: A multi-functional printing (MFP) includes a scan privacy tool to allow edits and changes to a scanned document image to remove or hide private information within a document. The scan privacy tool is enabled for jobs on the MFP device and launches when a job is run. The document is scanned and a scanned document image displayed on a display and edit interface of the scan privacy tool. Changes are made to the image using tools available through the scan privacy tool. The changes are applied to the scanned document image. The modified image is saved and transmitted to an engine in the MFP device to complete the job. An external input device, such as control buttons or a motion sensor device, is used to input instructions to the scan privacy tool in order to modify the scanned image.

    Abstract: A method of generating a musical score file for one or more target musical instruments with a score generation component based on input audio data. The score generation component finds candidate musical notes within the input audio data using a frequency analysis to identify segments that share substantially the same audio frequency, and finds a best match for those candidate musical notes in audio data associated with target musical instruments in a sound database. A generated musical score file can be printed as sheet music or audibly played back over speakers.
