Abstract: A test model may include a chamber, a tissue simulation material, and a visual indicator. The chamber may include a base, a lid, and an interior volume defined between the base and the lid. The tissue simulation material may be disposed within the interior volume of the chamber. The tissue simulation material may include a first surface and a second surface. The tissue simulation material may be configured to deform when the second surface is exposed to a lower pressure than the first surface in the interior volume of the chamber. The visual indicator may be configured to provide a visual state change in response to deformation of the tissue simulation material.

Abstract: Some embodiments of a manifold pad may be configured to distribute reduced pressure relative to a tissue site and to provide instillation to the tissue site. In some embodiments, the manifold pad may comprise open-cell foam and at least one skinned channel extending through the open-cell foam. The at least one skinned channel may be configured so that the skin is substantially impermeable to liquid, preventing liquid within the channel from seeping into the open-cell foam. In some embodiments, this may allow for two isolated pathways for fluid movement through the manifold pad. Some dressing embodiments may utilize such a manifold pad in conjunction with a treatment device. Other apparatus, dressings, systems, and methods are disclosed.

Abstract: An injury treatment system includes a negative pressure source and a dressing pneumatically communicable with the negative pressure source. The dressing includes a negative pressure therapy component configured to expose an anatomical structure to a negative pressure when the negative pressure therapy component is applied to the anatomical structure and in response to operation of the negative pressure source. The dressing also includes an immobilization component coupled to the negative pressure therapy system, wherein the immobilization component is configured to transition from a flexible state to an inflexible state in response to the operation of the negative pressure source.

Abstract: A system for monitoring and tracking swelling of a patient's limb includes a dressing, an imaging device, and processing circuitry. The dressing is positioned on a patient's limb over a wound and includes a pattern indicator. The imaging device is configured to obtain an image of the dressing and the pattern indicator. The processing circuitry is configured to obtain an initial image of the pattern indicator, obtain one or more subsequent images of the pattern indicator at later times, and determine a swelling change of the patient's limb using the initial image and the one or more subsequent images.

Abstract: A kit (1500) for negative pressure and immobilization therapy includes a negative pressure dressing (100) configured to define a sealed volume between a patient's skin and the negative pressure dressing when applied to the patient, a pump (200) configured to be placed in pneumatic communication with the negative pressure dressing and operable to displace air from the sealed volume, and a heat-moldable splint (900). The heat-moldable splint includes a plurality of flexible tubes formed of a first material and coupled together to form a web and a second material positioned in the flexible tubes and having a lower softening or melting point than the first material.

Abstract: A replaceable absorbent dressing system for a negative pressure wound therapy system includes a dressing and an absorbent pad. The dressing includes a perforated layer. The absorbent pad is detachably coupled to the dressing such that the absorbent pad can be separated from and reattached to the dressing while still forming a substantially airtight seal with the dressing. In at least one embodiment, the dressing further includes a foam material disposed on a skin facing side of the perforated layer.

Abstract: A cuff for measuring blood flow through arteries of a limb may include an interior surface, a bladder, and a blood flow sensor. The interior surface of the cuff is configured to be secured around the limb. The bladder is configured to be fluidly coupled to a source of positive pressure. The bladder is further be adapted to inflate in response to application of a positive pressure and restrict blood flow through the arteries of the limb when inflated. The blood flow sensor is coupled to the interior surface and disposed between the interior surface and the limb. The blood flow sensor is configured to measure blood flow through the arteries of the limb.
