摘要: A non-combustion smoking tool is usable with a commercial cigarette or cigar as it is, the tool vaporizes nicotine from the tobacco leaves and enables inhalation of the vaporized nicotine without burning the product. The non-combustion smoking tool has a heater to be used which includes a coil part and a linear part to be inserted into a commercial cigarette or cigar, wherein the linear part preheats the tobacco leaves, and the coil part heats air around the coil part so that, when a smoker inhales, the heated air around the coil part passes through the tobacco leaves so as to vaporize nicotine contained in the tobacco leaves and enable inhalation of the vaporized nicotine.

摘要: A negative electrode material for non-aqueous electrolyte secondary batteries, which is best suited for large current I/O non-aqueous electrolyte secondary batteries represented by those for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), which are unlikely to be influenced by the deterioration of battery characteristics due to water, and a production process thereof are provided. The negative electrode material having at least one exothermic peak in the range of not lower than 650° C. and lower than 700° C., and at least one exothermic peak in the range of not lower than 700° C. and lower than 760° C., in differential thermal analysis measured under an air flow. The production process of the negative electrode material for non-aqueous electrolyte secondary batteries is characterized by carbonizing a negative electrode material precursor having an oxygen content of not less than 5% by weight and less than 10% by weight, under an inert gas flow at a rate of not more than 120 ml/g·h, under a pressure of normal pressure to 10 kPa, at a temperature higher than 1100° C. and lower than 1500° C.

摘要: A remote control apparatus for recording/playback equipment capable of remotely controlling complicated recording playback equipment while placing little burden on the control side. Schedule data is transmitted from an uplink system 100 to a downlink system 200 via a communications satellite. The schedule data includes operation data for recording and playback operations and their related operations, start data which displays at least the operation start time, and position data which indicates the recording/playback position on the recording medium. The received schedule data is stored in a non-volatile RAM in the control area of the VCR 203. The VCR then uses this schedule data as a basis for automatically carrying out recording or playback operations and their related operations. As is no longer necessary to control the operation by providing appropriate commands to the VCR 203 in real time, the burden on the control side is greatly eased with regards to the control of complicated operations in addition to recording and playback, such as rewind and pre-roll operation modes.

摘要: Disclosed is a novel continuous ion exchange apparatus capable of performing both ion exchange treatment and regeneration treatment within a single column by the use of ion exchange resin(s) whose ion exchange abilities can be regenerated by acid or alkali. The apparatus comprises a resin column or two including an adsorption zone, a washing zone, a regenerating zone sequentially sectioned from the bottom toward the top; a resin extraction transfer means for withdrawal the ion exchange resin from the bottom of the column and transferring them to a metering container disposed on the top of the column; a resin supply means for supplying the ion exchange resin within the metering container to the top of the column, a water passage system allowing the supply of feed water into the interior of the column from the bottom of the adsorption zone and allowing discharge of the treated water from the top of the adsorption zone to the exterior of the column; and a regenerant passage system allowing the supply of the regenerant from the bottom of the regeneration zone into the interior of the column and discharge of regenerant waste from the top of the regeneration zone to the exterior of the column.
