摘要： A flare for waste gas disposal by combustion is disclosed particularly suited for use in remote areas such as deserts, where space is not limited and in which the portions of the flare exposed to radiation are of heat resistant material, the remainder of the flare and its supply connections being covered for protection against deleterious radiation effects thereon, provisions being made for protection of the waste gas supply line, pilot gas supply line and the ignitor supply line to minimize problems of expansion and contraction and to avoid erosion of the protective provisions.

摘要： Burner heads for incinerating waste combustible gas from refineries and the like are disclosed, for use in flare gas burners wherein a plurality of waste gas burner heads are provided for simultaneous operation at the same level, which heads may be utilized in a ground flare, or utilized in an elevated version of a ground flare burner. 摘要： A flare stack gas burner for waste combustible gas from oil refineries, chemical plants, oil production rigs, LPG and other marketing terminals, pipe lines and the like is disclosed which includes a stack providing a combustible gas delivery pipe with a plurality of outwardly extending hollow vanes at the top with fixed inclined nozzles along the tops of the vanes for discharge of the combustible gas in a plurality of flat inclined streams at an inclination of the order of 45.degree. from the horizontal in a hollow frustoconical vortex combustion path, the inclined streams inducing air on each face and into the vortex path and around the exterior for completing combustion. The effective contact of the air and mixing of the air with the combustible gas and burning gas provides smokeless combustion. A vent seal is provided to prevent entry of air into the stack.

The burner head has an enclosing shroud at the top to which steam is delivered at the bottom of the shroud for inducing combustion supporting air, the air being delivered in a hollow cylindrical stream surrounding the vortex path, with additional steam being introduced into and through the cylindrical stream, the air inlet path to the cylindrical stream being shielded to reduce noise emission.

摘要： A combustor is described for use in populated areas which may be elevated, and mounted on the roof of a building or which may be mounted on the ground, the combustor being adapted for waste gas having a very low btu content, or is a very dirty gas containing tars and particulate material, or is a very low pressure gas which has insufficient kinetic energy to mix readily with air, an upright combustion chamber open at the top being employed surrounded by an acoustical fence to reduce transmission of noise from the combustion and from secondary air supplied over the fence to reduce wind effect, and to reduce light transmission from the combustion process, the burners being disposed beneath a radiation floor and being independent and separately removable for cleaning without shut down of the combustor.

Suitable gas pilots and igniters are employed. An optional flaring frusto-conical shield may be provided for a portion of the burning vortex where required.
