Abstract:
An apparatus for use in forming fabric into a predetermined three-dimensional shape. The apparatus includes a contoured mold having at least two parts which are movable between a retracted position and an expanded position. A fabric holding mechanism is provided for holding a fabric shell placed over the mold in fixed position on the mold when the mold parts are in expanded condition. A driving assembly is mounted on one of the mold parts and operatively associated with the other mold part for effecting relative expansion thereof.
Abstract:
A novel process is disclosed in which garments and other cloth items are formed into their predetermined three dimensional shapes. Unfinished cloth is used to construct a shell which is then completely finished while maintained in the shape of the final product on a mold. The invention is also directed to the products obtained from the novel process and to the one-piece pattern used in the manufacture of pant garments in accord with the process of the present invention.
Abstract:
A process for forming cloth-covered cushion articles. A mold is provided having the shape of the desired cushion article. In one form, a cloth covering is drawn into the mold. Foamable material is poured into the mold and cured to form the cushion article. The covered, cured article is removed from the mold and heated to at least the heat-fixable fiber set temperature of the cloth, as the cured foam acts as a male mold to hold the cloth in contour during heat setting. In another form, the foam is poured directly into the mold and cured. The cloth covering then is placed over the cured cushion and set.

Abstract:
A sports training device comprising a stand alone unit comprising a ball securing member attached to a telescopic member. The ball securing member comprises a collar, one or more arms attached to the collar, and one or more receiving elements attached to each arm, wherein each receiving element is configured to hold a playing object, such as, a basketball. The collar is adjustably attached to the telescopic member, wherein such attachment effects the variation in the position of each receiving element. Furthermore, the to telescopic member is adjustable in height. The training device, then, allows an athlete to practice throwing a basketball from a variety of positions when received from a variety of heights from the ground of the court.
