摘要: An end of media detection system is provided for a system which unrolls a media supply such as paper from a cylindrical core substrate. One (trailing) edge of the media is attached to the core substrate. As part of the media detection system, a shaft which is positioned within a pair of cradles supports the cylindrical core. One of the cradles houses a plastic slide, which in turn acts vertically on the actuator of a microswitch when the shaft is in place. The weight of the shaft and media roll acting on the microswitch keeps the microswitch in an inactive state, however, as the media on the roll is played out, at some point just before the media is exhausted the shaft is moved upward due to the adhesive attachment of the trail edge of the media to the core substrate. Movement of the shaft relieves the pressure on the actuator of the microswitch thereby actuating the microswitch to send a signal to a controller to stop rotation of the shaft. This prevents a situation where the sheet still attached to the core stalls at the end of media feed.

摘要: A device that allows an operator to unload copy sheets from an output tray of a machine, keep the machine running, and maintain integrity of the copy sheet stack. The output tray is slid to the right with respect to the front of the machine to allow the operator to unload the copy sheet stack. When slid to the right, an `X-shelf` is unfolded to hold the stack of continual copy sheet output. After the tray is emptied, it is slid to the left and back into the original position. The sheets on the `X-shelf` fall into the output tray and the job continues uninterrupted.

摘要: This is a stacker cart useful to collect a paper stack in a paper-handling system. The stacker cart has movables so that it can be moved into and out of a housing in the system. At a top section of the stacker cart is a transfer plate that receives the paper stack after processing, finishing, or marking. This transfer plate and the stacker cart have on their lower surface movables that allow both easy moving of the slidable plate off the stacker cart and easy moving of the stacker cart from one location to another. The transfer plate has at least one hook that is connected to a rope or for moving the transfer plate to a second surface. The movables used in both the transfer plate and the stacker cart can be wheels, slides, or bearings.
