Abstract:
An apparatus and related methods using photographic imaging and the interactions between light beams and dairy milk to provide in-line monitoring, analysis, and display of the quality of milk collected from dairy animals. The apparatus is robust in that it is reliable, simple to install, relatively small in size, cost effective, easily cleaned, and low maintenance. The apparatus can be installed directly in-line with the milk collection apparatus for each animal so as to measure the entire milk yield produced by that animal at flow rates typically used in milking parlours without requiring any unusual tube fittings or non-standard equipment. The apparatus is capable of handling analysis of a flow having mixed densities, air/liquid ratios, temperature variations, or any other similar variation of physical characteristics.
Abstract:
A system may include an interface connected to at least one of a plurality of nodes via non-power line wiring not used for Ethernet communications. The system may also include a controller carrying the interface, and the controller uses a broadband over power line protocol to provide Ethernet data communications over the non-power line wiring amongst each of the plurality of nodes.
Abstract:
A fluid ejection device includes a first set of N memory elements each storing a fire enable value, each of the N memory elements configured to be updated. The fluid ejection device further includes N fluid ejecting elements, each fluid ejecting element corresponding to a different one of the N memory elements and configured to receive the fire enable value from the corresponding memory element, wherein the fluid ejecting element is enabled to eject a fluid when the fire enable value is an enabling value.
Abstract:
Monomeric, cyclic peptide analogues of relaxin superfamily proteins, based on B-chains of relaxin superfamily proteins, and methods of making them, are described, as well as pharmaceutical compositions containing them and methods of utilising them.
Abstract:
A flow divider arrangement for a rail lubrication distribution system for applying friction modifying material to a pair of adjacent railroad rails. The arrangement includes a first wiping bar assembly adapted to affix to a railroad rail, a second wiping bar assembly adapted to affix to an adjacent railroad rail and a flow divider in fluid communication with the first wiping bar assembly and the second wiping bar assembly. The flow divider is adapted to control the flow rate of friction modifying material to the wiping bar assemblies so that the flow rate of friction modifying material is at a constant rate independent of temperature and operating pressure to each wiping bar assembly.
Abstract:
A method of one embodiment of the invention is disclosed that determines the temperature and/or firing resistance of a thermal fluid-ejection nozzle as the fluid-ejection nozzle is fired. The method determines whether the fluid-ejection nozzle ejected fluid upon firing based on the temperature and/or firing resistance of the fluid-ejection nozzle.
Abstract:
An adaptive and interactive training system and method is provided. The system provides training content to a user of an application program based upon a variety of factors. The system selects the training content based upon the user's individualized needs vis-à-vis an application program. The system may customize the training sent to the user by evaluating the user's actual interaction with the application program, the user's personal profile and the group profile of groups to which the user belongs.
Abstract:
A fluid ejection assembly includes drop ejecting elements arranged in zones, with each zone having at least one drop ejecting element, wherein the drop ejecting elements of each zone are configured to conduct electrical current between a corresponding supply voltage and a corresponding reference voltage. Up to all drop ejecting elements of a group of the drop ejecting elements are enabled to conduct at a given time, with each conducting drop ejecting element of the enabled group having a corresponding drop ejecting voltage. A zone controller is configured to provide a corresponding desired supply voltage for each zone based on at least one corresponding zone parameter of each zone. An energy controller is configured to couple across each conducting drop ejecting element of the enabled group and regulate the supply voltage for each zone based on selected corresponding drop ejecting voltages and on each zone's corresponding desired supply voltage.
