    Abstract: In an approach for database self-diagnosis and self-healing, a processor receives a problem description related to a database. A processor classifies the problem description into a natural language description portion and a database-know-who content portion. A processor processes the natural language description portion using natural language processing techniques. A processor evaluates the database-know-who content portion. A processor combines a result of processing the natural language description portion and evaluating the database-know-who content portion. A processor identifies a solution based on the problem description and the combined result. A processor solves a problem using the identified solution.

    Abstract: Techniques for policy-aware service composition are provided. In one aspect, a method for creating a policy-compliant service composition is provided. The method includes the following steps. One or more policy rules related to services in the service composition are created. A service composition graph is created that represents the service composition, wherein vertices of the service composition graph represent the services and directional edges of the service composition graph represent potential flows of data between the vertices. During creation of the service composition graph, it is determined whether one or more candidate services comply with the policy rules. Only those of the candidate services that comply with the policy rules are included in the service composition graph, wherein the services included in the service composition graph comprise policy-compliant services, such that the service composition graph comprises only the policy-compliant services.

    Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product provides a way to separate connected or adhered adjacent characters of a digital image for license plate recognition. As a threshold processing, the method performs a recognition of character adhesion by obtaining character parameters using an image processor. The parameters include a horizontal max crossing and a ratio of width and height. A first rule-based module is used responsive to the character parameters to distinguish the adhered characters (character adhesions) that are easy to judge, leaving the uncertain part to a character adhesion classifier model for discrimination. Character adhesion data is obtained by data augmentation including the adding of a random distance between two single characters to create class like adhered characters. Then the character adhesion classifier model of single character and character adhesion data is trained. Any uncertain part can be distinguished by the trained character adhesion classifier model.

    Abstract: According to embodiments of the present invention, a method, a device and a computer program product for image processing is provided. A computing device obtains an image of a first object, the image presenting a defect of the first object. A computing device obtains defect distribution information indicating respective frequencies of a plurality of predetermined categories of defects presented at corresponding locations in a plurality of training images, the plurality of training images presenting second objects and being used for training a defect classifier. A computing device determines a target category of the defect of the first object by applying the image and the defect distribution information to the defect classifier. A computing device generates one or more correction notifications.
