摘要: Techniques are provided for tuning a rotary positive displacement pump. The techniques include apparatus featuring a signal processor configured to the present invention may take the form of apparatus comprising a signal processor that may be configured to receive signaling containing information about actual pump performance data related to the operation of a rotary positive displacement pump; and determine corrected published pump performance data to operate the rotary positive displacement pump by compensating published pump performance data based at least partly on the actual pump performance data. The corrected published pump performance data may include a corrected published rated power, flow and slip factor, and the actual pump performance data contains information about actual power, specific gravity and viscosity related to the operation of the rotary positive displacement pump and received from a pump controller or controlling device, including a variable frequency drive.

摘要: Techniques are provided for tuning a twin screw positive displacement pump having a signal processor with a signal processor to receive signaling containing information about actual pump performance data for actual rated conditions captured during a tuning function related to the operation of a twin screw positive displacement pump; and determine corrected pump performance data to operate the rotary positive displacement pump by compensating pump performance data being used for operating the twin screw positive displacement pump based at least partly on the actual pump performance data for the actual rated conditions captured during the tuning function. The corrected pump performance data includes corrected published pump performance data having a corrected published rated power and slip factor, and the actual pump performance data contains information about actual power, specific gravity and viscosity related to the operation of the twin screw positive displacement pump and received from a pump controller or controlling device, including a variable frequency drive.

摘要: Apparatus is provided featuring a signal processor or processing module configured at least to: receive signaling containing information about system energy consumption related to multiple pump combinations running in a multiple pump system; and determine whether to stage or de-stage a pump in the multiple pump system, based at least partly on the signaling received. The signal processor or processing module is configured to provide corresponding signaling containing information about whether to stage or de-stage the pump in the multiple pump system, and to implement control logic or a control logic algorithm based at least partly on the system energy consumption taking the form of specific energy that is a measure of energy used per unit mass for the multiple pump combinations running in the multiple pump system.

摘要: Techniques are provided for protecting a rotary positive displacement pump, e.g., using a signal processor that receives signaling containing information about power, torque, speed, viscosity and specific gravity related to the operation of a pump; and determines whether to enter an enhanced pump protection mode for the rotary positive displacement pump based at least partly on a relationship between an actual corrected tune ratio and a tuned ratio set point (Tune Ratio SP). The signal processor may determine if the actual corrected tune ratio is less than or equal to the actual corrected tune ratio set point (Tune Ratio SP), and if so, then to enter the enhanced pump protection mode, else continues to use a basic pump protection mode, and also determines the actual corrected tune ratio based upon a ratio of an actual corrected power (PAcorr) divided by a tuned corrected power (PTcorr) at a specific operating speed.
