    Abstract: This application provides a communication method and apparatus. The method includes: A first node receives a beam set and first indication information from a second node, where the beam set includes at least one beam. The first node determines, based on the first indication information, identification information of at least one beam that needs to be forwarded by the first node in the beam set. The first node forwards, based on the identification information of the at least one beam that needs to be forwarded by the first node in the beam set and receiving time information of the at least one beam that needs to be forwarded by the first node, the at least one beam that needs to be forwarded by the first node. The method is applied to a smart repeater, to implement smart beam forwarding by the repeater.
