Abstract: This application provides a communication method and apparatus. The method may include: A cell in a first frequency range determines to enter an energy saving state. A terminal device accesses a cell in a second frequency range through cell selection. When the terminal device needs to enter the cell in the first frequency range, the cell in the second frequency range assists the terminal device in accessing the cell in the first frequency range. In this application, energy saving can be implemented through assistance between a plurality of cells. For example, the cell in the first frequency range may enter the energy saving state. Communication performance can be ensured. For example, the cell in the second frequency range may assist the terminal device in accessing the cell in the first frequency range in the energy saving state.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an initial access method and apparatus. The method includes: sending, by an access network device, a synchronization signal to user equipment by using at least two downlink beams, where the synchronization signal includes downlink beam indexes of the at least two downlink beams; receiving, by the access network device, a random access preamble sequence sent by the user equipment; and sending, by the access network device, a random access response RAR message to the user equipment by using at least two downlink beams, so that the user equipment completes initial access. In the initial access method provided in the embodiments of the present invention, a disadvantage of channel instability in a high-frequency transmission environment in a new radio system is overcome, to improve initial access performance in the NR system and further improve user experience for the system.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide timing advance (TA) obtaining methods and apparatuses. One example method includes generating, by a base station, an indication message and sending the indication message to UE, and receiving, by the UE, the indication message sent by the base station. The UE can then obtain a TA of a second carrier based on the indication message, where the second carrier is a carrier not used to transmit a PUSCH. Although the second carrier is a carrier not used to transmit a PUSCH, the TA of the second carrier can still be obtained.

Abstract: A method for feeding back hybrid channel state information (CSI), a terminal device, and a base station, where the method includes reporting, by a terminal device, CSI to a base station, where the CSI is reported in two stages, CSI used when a quantity of beamformed CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) resources is greater than one is reported in a first stage, and CSI used when the quantity of the beamformed CSI-RS resources is equal to one is reported in a second stage, and reporting the CSI in the two stages occupies one CSI reporting process. In this method, hybrid CSI is reported based on a beamformed CSI-RS. Therefore, CSI reporting overheads can be reduced, and CSI reporting accuracy can be improved such that a cell throughput can be increased.

Abstract: A radio communications method, a base station, and a terminal, where the base station sends downlink control information to the terminal, where the downlink control information includes uplink scheduling indication information, and the uplink scheduling indication information instructing the terminal to send uplink data in a plurality of uplink sub frames on at least one unlicensed carrier, such that the terminal sends uplink data in a plurality of uplink subframes on one or more corresponding unlicensed carriers based on the uplink scheduling indication information, thereby implementing scheduling, using uplink scheduling indication information in one piece of downlink control information, of a plurality of uplink subframes to perform uplink transmission. This increases a data volume in data transmission while effectively reducing scheduling signaling overheads.

Abstract: Embodiments provide a method and an apparatus for transmitting a channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS). The method includes: determining, by a base station based on one physical resource block (PRB) pair, a first configuration mode used for a CSI-RS, where a resource element (RE) occupied in the first configuration mode is obtained by aggregating all or a part of resource elements REs occupied in at least two second configuration modes used for the CSI-RS. The second configuration mode is a configuration mode for eight CSI-RS ports, and comprises a correspondence between each CSI-RS port and a resource element RE.
