Embodiments of the present invention further disclose a system and a node device for monitoring optical performance of a wavelength channel.

Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a signal modulation and demodulation method and system, and an apparatus, to eliminate SSBI generated in a modulation and demodulation method. The method includes: performing, by a transmit end, PAM encoding on an input signal to obtain a PAM signal; electrically modulating, by the transmit end, the PAM signal by using a first filter; converting, by the transmit end, the electrically modulated PAM signal into an analog signal; optically modulating, by the transmit end, the analog signal by using an electro-optic modulator to obtain an optical signal, and sending the optical signal. Another method includes receiving, by a receive end, the optical signal, and converting the optical signal into an electrical signal; electrically demodulating, by the receive end, the electrical signal by using a second filter; and performing PAM decoding, by the receive end, the electrically demodulated electrical signal to obtain a restored input signal.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a fiber-cut detection method, apparatus, and system. When a fiber cut occurs, power of input signal light decreases quickly at a fiber-cut location. When the fiber-cut location is relatively far away from an amplifier, pump light consumption of the input signal light in the remaining fiber reduces due to reduction of the input signal light, which causes an increase of remaining pump optical power in the fiber and an increase of an actual gain value of the amplifier. A gain-locking function of the amplifier works, which decreases pump power of the pump light and maintains a gain of the amplifier unchanged basically. Output optical power of the amplifier decreases quickly with decrease of input optical power, and when power of an output optical signal decreases to power that is lower than preset power of the output optical signal, it is determined that a fiber cut occurs.

The present invention relates to the field of network communications and discloses a method for calculating a nonlinear transmission impairment, including: determining that no pump channel exists in an optical fiber link, obtaining a factor of intra-band nonlinear noise that does not pass through an optical filter, and obtaining integral power in signal light bandwidth of a span; correcting the factor of intra-band nonlinear noise that does not pass through an optical filter, to obtain a factor of intra-band nonlinear noise of the span that passes through an optical filter; calculating nonlinear noise of the span; and obtaining total nonlinear noise of the optical fiber link according to the nonlinear noise of the span, and obtaining a nonlinear transmission impairment of the optical fiber link. Embodiments of the present invention further provide an apparatus for calculating a nonlinear transmission impairment of an optical fiber link.

An example method includes: generating a real-number-type signal; performing phase rotation processing on the real-number-type signal to obtain a complex-number-type signal, where a value of a real part signal of the complex-number-type signal is equal to a value of an imaginary part signal of the complex-number-type signal; and transmitting the complex-number-type signal to a receiver.
