Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide an electrophoresis device that allows for reducing the temperature variation in the thermostat and that makes it easy to attach/detach the capillary. The electrophoresis device according to an aspect of the present invention includes: a capillary array unit that includes a capillary and a support that supports the capillary; a pump mechanism having one end of the capillary being connected thereto and for delivering a separation medium to the capillary; a detection unit that emits light to a portion of the capillary and performs a measurement on a sample in the capillary; and a thermostat that houses the capillary therein and performs temperature control on the capillary, in which the thermostat includes a heat source and a fan that sends air into the thermostat, and in which the thermostat or the capillary array unit includes a straightening plate.

Abstract: There is a phenomenon where a noise in a spike shape caused by, for example, impurities and a noise peak having a spectrum different from a wavelength spectrum of a labeled fluorescent substance are detected during a capillary electrophoresis. Therefore, the disclosure provides a technique to identify an intensity of the labeled fluorescent substance itself without an effect by a noise fluorescence peak caused by impurities. In the disclosure, a fluorescence intensity property (a fluorescence profile of a noise) common to the noise peaks is set, the noise peak is handled as a fluorescent substance different from the labeled fluorescent substance, and the fluorescent substance and the noise are separated by color converting with the labeled fluorescent substance+the noise fluorescent substance (see FIG. 5).

Abstract: The present invention provides an electrophoresis device with improved abnormality detection capability. The electrophoresis device according to the present invention includes a flow passage with which a phoresis medium is filled, a first and second electrodes disposed at respectively a cathode side and an anode side of the flow passage, a power supply for applying voltage across the first and second electrodes, a pump for feeding the phoresis medium to the flow passage, and a control section. The control section executes operations including filling the flow passage with the phoresis medium, executing electrophoresis of a sample, and applying voltage to the first and second electrodes prior to the sample electrophoresis to determine a state of a current path based on a value of current flowing through the current path. The control section applies voltage to the current path for 20 seconds or longer in the determine step.
