Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described for use of a sensor for monitoring a subject generate a sensor signal in response to the monitoring. Also disclosed is a computer processor to analyze the signal, and in response thereto, identify a correspondence between positions of the subject and occurrences of health events of the subject, and generate an output on the output device, in response to the identified correspondence. Other applications are also described.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described including using a sensor to monitor a sleeping subject and generate a signal in response to the monitoring. A control unit is used to accept an input indicative of a person desiring to perform an activity that is potentially disturbing to the sleep of the subject, analyze the sensor signal, in response to the analyzing, identify a time during which the activity is likely to be less disturbing to the sleep of the subject, relative to another time, and generate a notification indicating a suitability of performing the activity at the identified time. Other applications are also described.

Abstract: Apparatus is provided for monitoring a female subject. During a first menstrual cycle of the subject a computer processor predicts an upcoming ovulation of the subject, generates an output, on at least one user interface device, in response to predicting the upcoming ovulation, and receives from the subject, via the user interface device, an indication of one or more sensations that are sensed by the subject during a time period that is in temporal proximity to the predicted upcoming ovulation. During a second menstrual cycle of the subject, subsequent to the first menstrual cycle, the computer processor predicts an upcoming ovulation of the subject, at least partially based upon the indication received from the subject during the first menstrual cycle, and generates, on the user interface device, an output in response to predicting the upcoming ovulation of the subject. Other applications are also described.

Abstract: Apparatus for monitoring a clinical condition of a subject is described. A motion sensor senses motion of the subject without contacting or viewing the subject, and generates a sensed motion signal responsive to the sensed motion. A signal analyzer is adapted to analyze the motion signal to identify a cough in the subject. Other applications are also described.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described including identifying that a subject suffers from sleep apnea. Positive airway pressure (PAP) is applied to the subject via a mask placed on a face of the subject. A respiratory-related parameter of the subject is sensed, while the mask is on the face of the subject, and a need of the subject for respiratory support is assessed, responsively to the respiratory-related parameter. In accordance with the assessed need, the mask is configured to regulate the PAP provided to the subject's face. Other applications are also described.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods are described for monitoring a subject. A sensor monitors the subject and generates a sensor signal in response thereto and a plurality of filters are used to filter the sensor signal using respective filter parameters. A computer processor receives the sensor signal, filters the signal with each of two or more of the filters, and in response to a quality of each of the filtered signals, selects one of the plurality of filters to filter the sensor signal. Subsequently, the computer processor detects that the subject has undergone motion, by analyzing the sensor signal, and in response thereto, filters the signal with each of two or more of the filters, and in response to a quality of each of the filtered signals, selects one of the plurality of filters to filter the sensor signal. Other applications are also described.

Abstract: Apparatus is described, including a motion sensor configured to sense motion of a patient and to generate a motion signal in response thereto. The apparatus includes an output unit and a control unit. The control unit is configured to analyze the motion signal, to identify breathing of the patient as being shallow breathing in response to the analyzing, and to drive the output unit to generate an alert in response to identifying the breathing of the patient as being shallow breathing. Other applications are also described.
