A needle-pointer type meter includes: an indicator plate having a first see-through portion and an indicator portion surrounding the first see-through portion; a rotary body having a second see-through portion corresponding to the first see-through portion; a drive device for moving the rotary body; a needle-pointer mounted on the rotary body and moving along the indicator portion around the first see-through portion; light sources illuminating the needle-pointer; and a display device for displaying predetermined information to an observer via the see-through portions. A plurality of light sources are arranged at an interval along the movement route of the needle-pointer. The needle-pointer is made of translucent material which emits light when receiving light from a predetermined light source of the plurality of light sources while moving.

This examination is accomplished by shaking the package so that the package and its contents vibrate at the natural resonance frequency thereof, exposing the package to an irradiation of ultra-soft X-ray beams while the package is vibrating at the resonant frequency, either immediately after the package contents begin to be agitated by shaking or immediately after the vibration is stopped and it ceases to be agitated, detecting the strength of X-rays transmitted through the package and its contents, coverting the transmitted X-rays to a corresponding analog signal, and determining any alteration by comparing the analog signal against the refernece signal previously obtained in the same manner as described above for a like package with unaltered contents.

The present invention provides an antiglare film which has (1) appropriate antiglare properties in a frontal direction, (2) no white-blurring (3) no surface appearance such as a kind of orange on the surface of an antiglare layer's side. An exhaust purifying device applicable to an exhaust system extending from an internal combustion engine has a casing and a core received in the casing. The core has a honeycomb structure implemented by a corrugated sheet metal and a flat sheet metal rolled up together in a spiral configuration. Part of the flat sheet forming the outer periphery of the core is formed with a plurality of openings. The core is locally affixed to the casing by a solder applied to the portions of the flat sheet surrounding the openings and opposite edges of the flat sheet. This is successful in surely and stably affixing the core to the casing despite that the solder is implemented as an inexpensive powdery solder.
