    摘要: A liquid electrophotographic (LEP) ink composition is described. The composition comprises: a pigment particle having an acidic surface modification; a basic charge director selected from:(i) a polymeric amine dispersant having a Total Base Number of at least 100 mg KOH/gram material, and (ii) a sulfosuccinate salt of the general formula MAn, wherein M is a metal, n is the valence of M, and A is an ion of the general formula (I): [R1—O—C(O)CH2CH(SO3)C(O)—O—R2]− (I); and a liquid carrier. The ink composition does not include a thermoplastic resin. Also described are a method of producing the ink composition, and a method of printing using the ink composition.

    摘要: A system for automatic cleaning in a liquid ink printing system includes an ink tank, a pump which is configured pump a carrier liquid from the ink tank as a pressurized carrier liquid flow. A filter is configured to remove particulates from the pressurized carrier liquid flow to produce a filtered carrier liquid flow. A sprayer is configured to receive the filtered carrier liquid flow and spray the filtered carrier liquid flow into an interior of the ink tank. The pump recirculates the filtered carrier liquid flow through the filter and the sprayer. A method for automatic cleaning in a printing system is also included.

    摘要: A method is disclosed. The method may comprise forming an image on a surface by controlled electrostatic transfer of a fluid print agent comprising thermoplastic resin disposed in a carrier fluid The method may also comprise heating the fluid print agent on the surface to remove the carrier fluid and to melt the thermoplastic resin and allowing the melted thermoplastic resin in continuous areas on the surface to fuse together to form an image from fused print agent. The method may further involve providing a printed substrate bearing the image formed from fused print agent. The method may further comprise irradiating the printed substrate with an ultraviolet narrowband source so as to cause heating of the fused print agent to melt the thermoplastic resin. A print system and a print apparatus are also disclosed.

    摘要: A method for producing a cyan liquid electrophotographic ink composition includes: dispersing in a first portion of carrier fluid cyan pigment particles and inorganic spacer particles, the inorganic spacer particles having a particle size (d50) of 0.1 μm or less, such that the inorganic spacer particles adhere to the cyan pigment particles; heating a polymer resin in a second portion of carrier fluid to dissolve the polymer resin; adding the dispersion of the cyan pigment particles having the inorganic spacer particles adhered thereto in the first portion of carrier fluid to the dissolved polymer resin in the second portion of carrier fluid; cooling the carrier fluid at a controlled rate to effect precipitation of the polymer resin from the carrier fluid such that a coating of the resin is formed on the cyan pigment particles having the inorganic spacer particles adhered thereto, thereby producing the cyan liquid electrophotographic ink composition.
