    摘要: A corrugated shipping container for liquids is described. An outer container is a conventional corrugated box. This preferably has an inner corrugated liner forming corner posts. A liquid impermeable plastic bag having a spout and cap is contained within the outer box. The upper closure flaps of the container may have an opening or tear out portion for access to the spout. The neck of the spout is retained in a fixed position at a desired location at the top of the container by a saddle shaped insert having wing-like side members. The retainer ensures that the spout will be immediately accessible when desired, even though the container may have had severe handling stresses causing considerable bag movement.

    摘要: Rejects such as knots, shives, slivers, chops, and uncooked and partially cooked wood chips are separated from a pulp slurry and treated to produce a bleachable grade pulp. The rejects are dewatered to a 10-15% consistency, mechanically fiberized, and then delignified at the same 10-15% consistency in the presence of oxygen and alkaline pulping chemicals. The delignification is carried out at 80.degree.-140.degree. C. for 5-120 minutes. The process has low external power requirements, requires no expensive dewatering machinery, and proceeds at a rapid rate to yield a bleachable grade pulp which can be used alone or mixed with other pulp.

    摘要: Fibrous material is pre-steamed, impregnated with alkali liquor, refined, and then oxygen pulped at a low consistency (about 3 to 8 percent solids) using an alkali liquor which contains boron compounds. The pulping step of the process is carried out in stages with recycle of liquor to preceding stages after it has been reoxygenated. By recycling a major portion of the pulping liquor, the actual liquor to fibrous material ratio at each stage of the pulping step is maintained at a relatively high level (12/1 to 30/1) while the effective liquor to fibrous material ratio for the overall process is much lower (4/1 to 8/1). This results in a bright pulp of acceptable strength as well as a high solids content spent liquor which is economically recoverable.

    摘要: A corrugated paperboard strength enhancing process includes at least one resin application station located within the confines of the corrugator at a position where it is operable to apply a preselected amount of a strength enhancing resin to at least one side of the medium after it has been fluted. At least one liner is adhered to the set of opposed flute tips. Thereafter the combined board with the resin compound on selected transverse portions of the fluted medium is allowed to cure, under selected temperature and moisture conditions and without the application of pressure that would crush the fluted medium. A suitable resin for the intended purpose is an isocyanate compound.
