Abstract: The present disclosure relates to communication methods and apparatuses. In one example method, a first access network device determines configuration information, and sends the configuration information to a terminal. The first access network device is connected to a first core network device, and the first core network device uses a first or second communication standard. The configuration information includes status indication information of a first protocol layer (for example, a service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) layer) of the second communication standard, and the status indication information indicates the terminal to perform or not to perform a function of the first protocol layer. The first access network device determines a state of the first protocol layer based on a protocol layer specified in a communication standard of the core network device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an uplink control information sending method, an uplink control information receiving method, an apparatus, and a system. The method includes: receiving, by a terminal device, channel indication information from an access network device on a physical control channel; determining the channel resource set that is of N channel resource sets and that matches a type or a size of the UCI as a first channel resource set; determining a channel resource that is in the first channel resource set and that is indicated by the channel indication information; and sending uplink control information UCI to the access network device on the channel resource. A quantity of bits that need to be added to the channel indication information in the embodiments of the present invention is less th-n that in the prior art.

Abstract: In a communication method disclosed in this application, a terminal device receives, from a network device, a synchronization signal and a system information signal that are generated based on a first subcarrier spacing. The terminal device sends a random access request signal to the network device based on a second subcarrier spacing and a first transmission resource, where a type of the first transmission resource corresponds to a third subcarrier spacing and/or a fourth subcarrier spacing. The terminal device further receives a random access response signal generated based on the fourth subcarrier spacing, where the random access response signal is used for instructing the terminal device to access a network or the random access response signal is used for instructing the terminal device to prepare to access network. Thereby, cell search for and random access to a network using a plurality of subcarrier spacings can be supported.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an information sending method and apparatus and an information receiving method and apparatus. The sending method includes: determining a length of a cyclic redundancy check CRC code based on a length of first information, where the first information is control information, and if the length of the first information is less than or equal to a first threshold, and greater than a second threshold, it is determined that the length of the CRC code is a first length; generating the CRC code based on a generator polynomial corresponding to the length of the CRC code and the first information; generating second information; and sending the second information. The present invention improves reliability of information transmission.

Abstract: In the field of wireless communication, a method and an apparatus for transmitting Uplink Control Information (UCI) are provided. The method includes: determining a codeword corresponding to the UCI among multiple codewords according to a preset rule when the UCI is transmitted on a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) with the multiple codewords (101); and transmitting the UCI by mapping the UCI onto the corresponding codeword (102). The apparatus includes a determining unit and a transmitting unit. The method and the apparatus provide a solution to transmitting UCI on a PUSCH with multiple codewords. This solution can be implemented easily based on LTE R8, without involving too much additional work of standardization.
