    Abstract: A communication method and apparatus In response to an AMF device determining whether a first tracking area where a first access network device currently accessed by a terminal is located does not support a first network slice requested by the terminal and in response to the first tracking area does not support the first network slice, the AMF device sends second radio resource information to the first access network device. The second radio resource information is usable at the first access network node to determine frequency band information, and the frequency band information is usable at the terminal to access the first network slice in a second tracking area by using a target access network device, the second tracking area where the target access network device is located supports the first network slice. In this case, the terminal accesses the first network slice that the terminal requests to access.
