Abstract: In at least one embodiment, an active noise cancellation (ANC) system is provided. The system includes at least one loudspeaker to project anti-noise sound in response to receiving a first anti-noise signal and at least one microphone to provide an error signal indicative of noise and the anti-noise sound. The system further includes a head tracker sensor to provide a first signal indicative of a position of a user's head and a first controllable filter programmed to modify a transfer function between the microphone and at least one remote microphone location to generate an estimated remote microphone error signal based at least on the error signal and the first signal. The system further includes a second controllable filter programmed to generate the first anti-noise signal to account for the position of the user's head at least based on the estimated remote microphone error signal.

Abstract: An active noise cancellation (ANC) system is provided with at least one loudspeaker to project anti-noise sound within a passenger cabin of a vehicle in response to receiving an anti-noise signal and at least one microphone to provide an error signal indicative of noise and the anti-noise sound within the passenger cabin. An adaptive filter controller is programmed to filter the error signal to obtain a noise reduction ratio, and to adjust a step size and/or leakage parameter based on a comparison of the noise reduction ratio to a noise threshold. A controllable filter generates the anti-noise signal based on the adjusted step size and/or leakage parameter.

Abstract: A remote microphone system for a vehicle may include at least one physical microphone arranged within a vehicle cabin configured to generate an error signal at a virtual microphone location within the vehicle, a database configured to maintain a look up table of premeasured seat positions and associated transfer functions, and a processor. The processor may be configured to receive a seat position indicative of a seat location within the vehicle, and apply a transfer function associated with the premeasured position to a primary noise signal of the at least one physical microphone to generate the error signal.

Abstract: In at least one embodiment, an active noise cancellation system. The system includes a first controller, a data bus, and a second controller. The first controller receives first information from a plurality of noise sensing devices and second information from an audio system. The first controller employs a time division multiplexing scheme to generate a multiplexed stream of data including the first information and the second information. The data bus transmits the multiplexed stream of data on a single data channel. The second controller receives the multiplexed stream of data on the single data channel and separates the first information from the second information on the multiplexed stream of data to perform ANC functionality.

Abstract: In at least one embodiment, an active noise cancellation (ANC) system is provided. An audio signal source provides an audio signal. At least one loudspeaker projects anti-noise sound within a cabin. At least one microphone provides a first error signal indicative of the noise, the audio signal, and the anti-noise sound and a second error signal indicative of an estimated anti-noise signal. At least one controller is programmed to receive the first error signal and the second error signal and to provide an estimated impulse response based at least on the first error signal and the second error signal. The at least one controller is further programmed to compare the estimated impulse response to one or more pre-stored impulse responses; and to select a first pre-stored impulse response that matches the estimated impulse response to filter one or more reference signals at an adaptive filter to generate the anti-noise signal.

Abstract: A road noise cancellation (RNC) system is provided with at least one loudspeaker to project anti-noise sound within a passenger cabin of a vehicle in response to an anti-noise signal; and a controller. The controller is programmed to: determine a coherence value between a noise signal indicative of road induced noise and an error signal indicative of noise and the anti-noise sound within the passenger cabin; estimate a noise reduction value based on the coherence value; filter the noise signal and the error signal based on the estimated noise reduction value; and generate the anti-noise signal based on the filtered noise signal and the filtered error signal.

Abstract: In at least one embodiment, a system for providing a frequency dependent dynamic leakage for noise cancellation is provided. The system includes a noise cancellation controller and a current limiter. The noise cancellation controller is programmed to perform noise cancellation in a vehicle based on a limited input signal. The current limiter is programmed to receive a reference signal from one of an accelerometer or a loudspeaker and to convert the reference signal from a time domain and into a frequency domain to limit the reference signal. The current limiter is further programmed to generate the limited input signal in response to limiting the reference signal.
