Abstract: A media playback apparatus for playing media on a web browser may be provided. The media playback apparatus may include: a receiving unit that receives media data generated in a media service apparatus; a first media restoring unit that decodes the received media data by a first decoder embedded in the web browser; a second media restoring unit that decodes the received media data by a second decoder written in a script, which is parsed by the web browser; a user interface configured to receive a user command; and a decoding controller configured to control the first media restoring unit to decode the received media data in response to the user command corresponding to a playback command and control the second media restoring unit to decode the received media data in response to the user command corresponding to a seek command.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a video search device comprising: at least one processor configured to implement an updating unit generating event object information based on feature information on an object detected in a video; and a storage configured to store comparison object information containing feature information on a reference object, wherein the processor is further configured to implement: an object information generating/deleting unit configured to create information on an object having a predetermined degree of similarity between the event object information and the comparison object information as final object information, and storing the final object information in the storage; and a data searching unit searching the final object information for data that satisfies a search criterion entered by a user.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for simultaneously playing back and storing media without a plug-in in a web browser. In the present disclosure, since restoration of video, restoration of audio, and backup of media are performed in a multi-threaded manner using a web worker, it is possible to simultaneously perform playback and storage of media. To this end, interworking is performed between a video web worker performing restoration of video, an audio web worker performing restoration of audio, and a backup web worker performing backup of media. According to the present disclosure, it is possible to simultaneously perform playback and backup of media, and it is also possible to stop backup of media and then resume the backup.

Abstract: A media playback apparatus and a method for synchronously reproducing video and audio on a web browser are provided. In the media playback apparatus, audio is buffered to be outputted at a time point at which video is outputted, thereby synchronizing the outputs of video and audio. The media playback apparatus may output the video in synchronization with the audio even when video and audio are decoded by different decoders. Therefore, it is possible to implement a decoder separately from a decoder embedded in a web browser in a non-plug-in environment, thereby reducing the dependency on the codec format of the media.

In the case of live streaming, since real-time is an important factor, there is provided a media playing method with no initial delay by using a decoder written in a script that can be parsed by a web browser. In the case of recorded streaming, there is provided a media playing method capable of using a decoder embedded in a web browser with no compatibility issue related to a container even when the media service apparatus has no container creation functionality.
