Abstract:
The warming jug consists of a jacket (1) of several parts and a metal bottom (2). Parts of the jacket (1) are: an upper section (3) with a handle (15), an intermediate ring (5) and a closing ring (7). The metal bottom (2) is arranged in a circular groove (10) between the closing ring (7) and the intermediate ring (5). To ensure tightness, an additional seal (13) is arranged between the border of the bottom (6) and the intermediate ring (5) or the closing ring (7). The jacket parts (3, 5 and 7) are made of synthetic and are bonded together to one unit.
Abstract:
Some embodiments provide a system including a database, two or more data access objects, and a proxy object. In some such embodiments, each data access object has exclusive access privileges to a subset of data within the database. Further each object includes one or more of a read method that provides access to data and a write method that causes data to be stored. In such embodiments, the proxy object accesses data via data access object methods and includes a valuate method, the execution of which causes data to be passed from a data access object to the proxy object.
Abstract:
The new hypocalcaemically active peptides of formula I ##STR1## and corresponding compounds in which one or more of the asparagine and glutamic acid radicals are replaced by the aspartic acid or glutamic acid radical and/or the aspartic acid radical is replaced by the asparagine radical, their dimers, especially those in which 2 identical peptide sequences (1-32 and 1'-32') are joined in an anti-parallel arrangement via the cysteine radicals 1,7' and 7,1' by means of a disulfide bond, and derivatives are useful as hypocalcaemic agents and are prepared by splitting off groups protecting at least one amino or one carboxyl group or oxidizing the corresponding sulfides to the disulfides or condensing together adequate peptides.
Abstract:
Temporary protection of amino groups by the group of the formula I ##EQU1## in which R.sub.1 represents lower alkyl, R.sub.2 lower alkyl or phenyl and R.sub.3 phenyl, and wherein the phenyl radicals are unsubstituted or substituted by lower alkyl, phenyl or lower alkylphenyl groups.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for implementing a software architecture design for a software application implementing time recording. The application is structured as multiple process components interacting with each other through service interfaces, and multiple service operations, each being implemented for a respective process component. The process components include a Project Processing process component that supports the management of projects, a Time and Labor Management process component that supports the management of employees timekeeping and work planning, an Accounting process component that records relevant business transactions, a payroll processing process component that supports the execution and monitoring of payroll processes, and a Goods and Service Acknowledgement process component that receives a confirmation from an employee of goods received or services rendered.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus, including systems and computer program products, for a service architecture design that provides enterprise services having human capital management functionality at the level of an enterprise application. The design includes a set of service operations, process components, and optionally deployment units. Suitable business objects are also described.
Abstract:
The invention relates to DNA sequences which code an eglin, expression plasmids containing such DNA sequences, hosts transformed with such expression plasmids, novel eglin compounds produced from such transformed hosts, monoclonal antibodies against eglins, hybridoma cells which produce such antibodies, and test kits for immunoassays containing such antibodies, and furthermore the processes for their preparation and a process for the preparation of eglins with the aid of the transformed hosts. The eglins which can be prepared according to the invention have useful pharmacological properties.
Abstract:
Acylpeptides derived from somatostatin or from a derivative thereof having analogous action, in which the amino acids sequence is modified by omitting individual amino acids and/or by exchanging them for other amino acids, and in which the .epsilon.-amino group of the lysine residue in the 9-position, and optionally also the .epsilon.-amino group of the lysine residue in the 4-position and/or the N-terminal .alpha.-amino group carries the acyl radical of an optionally substituted alkanecarboxylic acid, and salts and complexes thereof can be used as antidiabetics and/or for combating gastrointestinal bleeding. They are manufactured by conventional methods of peptide chemistry.
Abstract:
Cyclic peptides of the formula ##STR1## in which trp represents L-Trp, D-Trp, or an analogous radical which carries a halogen atom in the indole nucleus, Ac.sub.A represents hydrogen, or an acyl radical Ac of a carboxylic acid present at the .epsilon.-amino group, A represents L-Phe, D-Phe, L-Phg or D-Phg, or a corresponding radical having a substituted or saturated phenyl ring, and B represents the residue of a .gamma.- or .delta.-amino-lower alkanecarboxylic acid which may carry an optionally substituted cyclic hydrocarbyl radical Ar, and also pharmacologically tolerable salts and therapeutically acceptable complexes thereof can be used as an antidiabetic in an analogous manner to somatostatin. They can be obtained by conventional processes of peptide chemistry, especially by cyclisation of corresponding linear peptides.
Abstract:
A business object model, which reflects data that is used during a given business transaction, is utilized to generate interfaces. This business object model facilitates commercial transactions by providing consistent interfaces that are suitable for use across industries, across businesses, and across different departments within a business during a business transaction. In some operations, software creates, updates, or otherwise processes information related to employee time event and human capital management view of payroll process business objects.
