    摘要: An image forming apparatus is configured to facilitate design modification. The image forming apparatus has an engine mechanism to carry out a printing job with respect to a print data applied from an external device, an image processing unit to convert the print data into image data, and an engine controlling unit to control the engine mechanism to carry out the print job with respect to the image data. The engine controlling unit and the image processing unit are arranged on a single printed circuit board (PCB) in which a first and a second division are defined, with the engine controlling unit being arranged in the first division and the image processing unit being arranged in the second division. A circuit element in the second division is shared by the engine controlling unit and the image processing unit to reduce costs and redesign time.

The printed circuit board comprises a circuit part for controlling and processing an operation of electronic appliance, and a large-area contact terminal formed by a group of small-area terminals for electric connection with external device. The small-area terminals can be formed in various types, respectively having regular size and shape and being distanced a predetermined interval. Accordingly, unevenness of the large-area contact terminal surface caused by soldering is prevented since a plurality of small-area terminals constitute a unit contact terminal of over a predetermined size. Therefore, quality of contact with external terminal improves. Further, manufacturing cost is reduced, and the manufacturing process becomes simple.

The printer includes a photoreceptor belt circulating along a path formed by a plurality of rollers; a plurality of optical scanning devices for scanning light toward the photoreceptor belt; a plurality of developing devices for supplying developing materials of different colors to the photoreceptor belt; a plurality of detectors for detecting part of light emitted from the optical scanning devices; an engine controller for controlling the driving of the optical scanning devices, the developing devices, and the rollers, based on received light output from the optical detectors, so that test patterns for each optical scanning device set to detect the color registration error between the optical scanning devices can be formed on the photoreceptor belt; a pattern position detector for detecting the positions of the test patterns formed from fixed positions through a developing process; and a color registration correction calculator for calculating a color registration error amount from the position information of the test patterns provided by the pattern position detector, and calculating color registration correction data from the calculated error amount and outputting the calculated correction data to the engine controller. In color registration error correction using the printer, the positions of electrostatic latent images, corresponding to test patterns formed on a photoreceptor belt by optical scanning devices, are detected by developing the electrostatic latent images with a single color. Therefore, a structure for measuring error amounts from the test patterns is simple, and the accuracy of measurement can be improved.

The apparatus includes an exposing unit that irradiates light onto a photoconductive drum which forms a first latent image, which is a mark a second latent image, having a predetermined shape, on an area surrounding the mark, and a third latent image . A developing unit develops the first through third latent images with a predetermined density according to color tones. A mark sensing unit senses toner images by irradiating predetermined light onto the surface of the transfer belt after developing the latent images, and by sensing irregularly reflected light of the irradiated light. A controller compares the intensity of the irregularly reflected light with a predetermined threshold and determines exposure starting times according to time information relating to a point of time of the latent image sensing.
