Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for scoring candidate answer passages. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a query determined to be a question query that seeks an answer response and data identifying resources determined to be responsive to the query; for a subset of the resources: receiving candidate answer passages; determining, for each candidate answer passage, a query term match score that is a measure of similarity of the query terms to the candidate answer passage; determining, for each candidate answer passage, an answer term match score that is a measure of similarity of answer terms to the candidate answer passage; determining, for each candidate answer passage, a query dependent score based on the query term match score and the answer term match score; and generating an answer score that is a based on the query dependent score.
Abstract:
In some implementations, a computer-implemented method is provided that includes accessing a database of career path data structures, each career path data structure including an initial node that represents an initial career position, a subsequent node that represents a subsequent career position, and a path element that represents a career transition between the initial career position and the subsequent career position and is associated with data regarding people that have made the career transition between the initial career position and the subsequent career position. The method includes receiving a career path query. The method includes identifying a set of the career path data structures based on the career path query. The method includes generating a set of career paths from the career path data structures, each career path including a directed graph that includes two or more nodes. The method includes providing a representation of the set of career paths.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for generating answers to answer-seeking queries. One of the methods includes receiving a query having multiple terms. The query is classified as an answer-seeking query of a particular question type, and one or more answer types associated with the particular question type are obtained. Search results satisfying the query are obtained, and a respective score is computed for each of one or more passages of text occurring in each document identified by the search results, wherein the score for each passage of text is based on how many of the one or more answer types match the passage of text. A presentation that includes information from one or more of the passages of text selected based on the respective score is provided in response to the query.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and articles of manufacture for annotating of an image are disclosed. These include scoring the image using a plurality of trained classifiers, wherein each of the trained classifiers corresponds to at least one of a plurality of image groups clustered based upon image similarity, and wherein each image group is associated with a set of weighted labels; selecting one or more of the image groups based upon the scoring; aggregating one or more sets of weighted labels associated with the selected one or more image groups; and annotating the image using the aggregated one or more sets of weighted labels.
