摘要： A ring-shaped network (RN) which is an offering network is inserted into a subscriber line region of a switching equipment (VE). The coupling to the ring-shaped network (RN) occurs through a ring-coupling (RCB) to which a gateway apparatus (GWE) and an external acceptance device (AEE) which contains a matching device (APE) and a plurality of subscriber line equipment (SLM) are connected. The matching device (APE) provides the signalling and information transmission procedure matching. For example, ISDN subscriber equipment (SE) are connected to the subscriber line equipment (SLM) via central office lines (ASL). The communications system is operated, administered and monitored either centrally by the switching equipment (VE) via an operating terminal arranged in the switching equipment (VE) or divided into two network regions, either subscriber line region/switching center or switching eqipment network/ring-shaped network by the switching equipment (VE) and/or by the gateway apparatus (GWE).

摘要： A communications system with communications terminal equipment provided with prescribed functions that are defined and controlled by a communications installation by information transmission. An identical parameter-controlled program for all communications terminal equipment connectable to a communications installation is stored in the program memory of the communications terminal equipment. All functions that can be allocated to the different types of communications terminal equipment are realized by this program. The functions provided for the respective communications terminal equipment are allocated and controlled by parameter data stored in a data memory. On the basis of an initialization in the communications terminal equipment or in the communications installation, the parameter data are transmitted for the first time to or updated at the respective communications terminal equipment by the communications installation. In a communications system fashioned in this manner, the terminal-associated, flexible allocation of functions and procedures to the respective communications terminal equipment is preserved despite the displacement of switching-oriented and operations-oriented functions into the communications terminal equipment, which means a dynamic relieving of the central controller of the communications installation.

摘要： A method for transmitting equipment-specifying program parameter data from a communications installation to communications terminal equipment. The method provides for transmitting program parameter data from a communications installation to a plurality of communications terminal equipment connected thereto and is based on a message-oriented transmission protocol that is used in the sense of an information exchange in the signalling channel between the equipment. In the communications equipment, the input and output devices as well as the procedures of performance features and local performance features are essentially controlled with the assistance of the program parameter data. A transmission of program parameter data is initiated either by a parameter request message transmitted from the communications terminal equipment or by an internal request of the communications installation. In a start of parameter message, address and parameter defining criteria are transmitted from the communications installation to the respective communications terminal equipment. Subsequently, the program parameter data embedded into a parameter message are transmitted to the respective communications terminal equipment and are stored in them.
