Abstract: A system and method are provided including an inclusion module to receive a powder sample from a powder source; a computed tomography equipment; a memory for storing program instructions; an inclusion processor, coupled to the memory, and in communication with the inclusion module, and operative to execute program instructions to: receive the powder sample; execute a computed tomography (CT) scan process of the received sample to generate a first dataset including one or more images; identify inclusions in the one or more images, via a segmentation process; reconstruct, via a reconstruction process, the identified inclusion into a 3D representation; measure the identified inclusion; mark the inclusions on one or more image slices from the 3D representations; and determine whether the powder source is contaminated based on the one or more marked images. Abstract: A centrifugal separator includes a stator assembly (114) that includes at least one housing (116), and a rotor assembly (112) positioned within the at least one housing. The rotor assembly includes a rotor shaft (132), an array of longitudinal fins (189) extending radially outward from the rotor shaft, and a plurality of separator vanes (134) coupled to the array of longitudinal fins. Each separator vane includes a plurality of longitudinal slots (194) defined therein and configured to align with the array of longitudinal fins such that the plurality of separator vanes are rotationally interlocked with the array of longitudinal fins.

Abstract: A membrane bioreactor (MBR) has membranes comprising a supporting structure. A supply unit doses a sorbent such as powdered activated carbon (PAC) into the MBR. The PAC is maintained at a concentration in the mixed liquor of 200 mg/L or more. Mixed liquor with the sorbent particles recirculates within the MBR at a flow rate of at least twice the feed flow rate. Air bubbles are provided to scour the membranes including during at least part of a permeation step. The sorbent particles are present in the mixed liquor and contact the membranes. Bioaugmentation products may be immobilized on PAC or other carriers and then added to an MBR or other bioreactors.

Abstract: A method for selective aluminide diffusion coating removal. The method includes diffusing aluminum into a substrate surface of a component to form a diffusion coating. The diffusion coating includes an aluminum-infused additive layer and an interdiffusion zone. The diffusion coating is solution heat treated at a temperature and for a time sufficient to dissolve at least a portion of the interdiffusion zone. Thereafter the aluminum-infused additive layer is selectively removed. An aluminide diffusion coated turbine component is also disclosed.
